2020 Ford F150 Front Brake Pads & Rotor Replacement DIY

This is the first maintenance I did with my 2020 F150 Lariat.
Outer pads are cracked probably due to excessive heat and it makes a vibration every time I apply brakes, especially going down the hill. After replacing both pads and rotors, the vibration and braking are smooth again.

The vibration wasn't from those brake pads, you probably had at least another 20, 000 miles left on them. The rotors will warp slightly over time, especially if they're overheated (trailering a heavy boat, camper, etc). If those old rotors were placed on a resurfacing machine you notice the warp as the cutting bit touched the rotor (it would be intermittent until enough of the rotor material was cut off).

I would hope that you could drive from Van to Ab and not wind up with cracked brake pads. How many times did you stop on this long hiway run?

Did you get the check brake system light on after replacing the front brakes?

I have vibration on my front left when i brake and that is after resurfacing rotors and installing new brake pads. Any insight on why there is still vibration cause I’m about to replace my calipers. Also pins were smooth and regressed

I only did front pads and now my pedal is super spongy. All i did was compress the calipers, any reason air may have gotten in my lines?
