How To Put Your Ford Vehicle In Brake Service Mode With Electronic Parking Brake. (2015-2023 F150)

How to put your 2015-2023 Ford F150 into park brake service mode to do rear brakes. And then put it back into normal mode. Putting in service made THROTTLE TO FLOOR WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE PARK BRAKE BUTTON IGNITION ON. WAIT 5 SECONDS IGNITION OFF. WAIT 5 SECONDS IGNITION ON. THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL FLASH AND SAY PARK BRAKE SERVICE MODE ACTIVE ON DASH. TO GO BACK TO NORMAL MODE. SAME PROCESS EXCEPT YOU PULL UP ON PARK BRAKE BUTTON AND HOLD.

This worked for me to put my 2022 XLT in to brake maintenance mode. When I tried to take it out of maintenance mode I had problems had to push the brake pedal while holding down the accelerator and holding the brake switch. Just tapped the pedal with my left foot and it worked. Thank you.

I would bet this info was in the Manual if I bothered to search it out, maybe not, but I am happy to know there is a way to do brakes without a scan tool. I bought a fancy scan tool that can put the truck in service mode. I could have save $200

I have the 2023 F-150 Lightning, and following your instructions I activated the Brake Maintenance Mode. But for some reason your instructions didn't work for de-activating it after servicing. This video’s focus was this guy's face not actually seeing the parking brake. I hate these electronic parking brakes. I have to wonder how many people got hurt because they did know where the E-Brake was when they needed it as it is not where it has always been in vehicles.

Just found out for models with an electronic brake booster (basically on models with automatic braking assist and regenerative braking... EDIT: might be the hybrid Regen braking system as suggested below), there is an additional step required to disable the brake booster so it doesn't think there is a leak in the system.

Apparently you just need to press the brake pedal after the car is on and you're holding the other parts in the steps.

Is this something you're familiar with? Just did my brakes this weekend only for it to need a dealership appointment to clear the ABS codes after (exact car is 2020 Ford escape titanium hybrid)

21 and up you have to press the brake for 1 second while in the off position. Figured this out the hard way. I work at a Chevy dealer
