To be clear, if specification is within 1% (as you stated), you are indeed out of spec. You have a reading of 31.11megOhm (31.11 millions ohms) 1% of that would be .3111. Therefore you spec would be 30.8m - 31.42megohms. Your reading on the second sensor was 31.58 which is outside of your specification.

Just so everyone knows, he is not plugged into the car's electrical system wiring harness he is plugged into the other end of the speed sensor one and is connected at the wheel hub that has the actual sensor and the other end that he's plugged into is the end that would normally connect to the cars wiring harness oh, there are so many comments of everyone claiming he's plugged into that cars computer and the cars wiring harness and I tried to respond to all the comments that said that to let them know that they are wrong and to help them understand what's going on, so I hope this helps everyone understand what's going on here, the wheel speed sensor has two ends at one end is the sensor that's plugged into the Hub and the other end is what he is plugged into and that is the end that you would Connect into the cars wiring harness, I hope this helps I've try to make it as clear as possible

I wished this video was positioned at the top of the results when putting in how to test a wheel speed sensor, I spent a lot of time going through steps other videos recommended before I found the fix by trial and error.... this is the way to find where the problem was at. I started going back to the other videos to post honest comments and then found this one. thanks for the video, it would have been the right way to detect where the issue was. mine was a wire short before the sensor harness

Thank you thats much better than the last video I wasted time with someone else try to tell me I need an autel computer probably a 3 thousand dollar computer would be nice to have but if I could afford that kind of equipment I would have to be here researching how to right thanks I do have an ohm meter much thanks

31 Meg ohms is what you have, respectfully Brother, you are not reading the coil. 31 Meg is effectively an open, its just reading thru the dielectric of the coil if it is open.Possibly you probe is not plugged all the way into the meter, I catch that on mine from time to time or there is a problem with your probes. Always short check them together to see you get 0 ohms before you measure another circuit. IF it is truly 31 Meg there has to be an active component in there like a diode which if there was that would kill it from making an AC signal. My coils are 1.1K, check mfg spec they could be more or less but 31 Meg is a problem and effectively an open. Ohms testing is sound methodology but wiggle the wire as well to see if ohms change like if you got an intermittent short from it hitting the hub. Put the meter on AC and see if it develops a voltage.

Hello, I'm having an issue 2011 Toyota Prius Christmas tree lights, how can you tell a speed sensor problem or the ABS, brake module has problem, traction, brake Abs, tire warning lights reset on there on while driving for s couple of hours, but then return to on dash. Sometimes weeks before they clear again? Thank you for your time Ed ✌️

Amazing video and energy! Helped a lot

I tested the ohms and ohms was reading fine. I installed another wheel speed sensor that was reading the same ohms. That one got rid of the vsc light on the dash.

Hi, can I know if I am doing right by using a Chinese multimeter set at 20k for testing Mitsubishi Pajero ABS sensors, and what reading should I get, any idea

Hey thanks but I have a problem of sorts. I tested the right rear side on the JK Jeep Wrangler because my code reader is coming up with C1035. The cable is showing OL so I tested the left rear side and it shows the same thing! Does this mean that both sides are bad? I"m not sure what's going on. I switched the multi metre to voltage and both readings were around 11.35 volts. Do you have any idea what could be happening? Surely both sides are not bad, right?

If 1 is damaged can it cause the car not to shift down ?

My son has a 2014 nuke and the right rear speed sensor is not picking up so he replaced the wheel bearing and speed sensor and still no signal so he which the thing drives side to the passenger side and still nothing. Took sensor off and replaced it and still nothing. He took to dealer and they said ABS actuator was bad 2000$ later Still no signal coming from right rear speed sensor. The gear on the cv shaft looks good but the plate ring that the sensor mounts to look rusty so I'm going to clean it up but how can I test the leads and what to look for testing something from the computer to the wheel to track the problems down maybe a bad wire somewhere

So i have my meter set at ohms with an alarm beep. Not touching them together starts it at 1. When i try to check the sensor nothing happens, it stays at 1. Is that bad. It seems like it should register something.

Hi, my sensor spec say between 800 and 3500 ohms, but I am not very good at understanding this and mine shows 1.195 ohms so it that like less then 2 ohms and out of specs.

This will only work on the passive type of wheel speed sensor, not the active type .

Yeah is there a polarity difference or doesn't it matter it whichever way you hook it up I'm an Africa with this car and a mechanic cut the stupid wires and then he destroyed it out of the hub I had to order new wheel sensors so now I have no plug because he cut it and he threw the plug away Now I'm just wiring it connected together does polarity make a difference blue wire yellow wire whatever it is

Which pin do you know to use or does it not matter?

Good video. But, what is the next test if the ABS light is on, and the speed sensor passed THIS test.
