Jon Stewart Rips GOP, Sen. Pat Toomey for Blocking Burn Pits Bill

Comedian Jon Stewart unleashed a barrage of comments directed at Republican senators, including Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, who blocked passage of a veterans health bill on burn pits. NBC10’s Lauren Mayk has Toomey’s reaction.

Jon needs to run for office so he can show the Dems just how to hold these GOP cowards and liars accountable. Toomey had no comment because he knows he has picked a fight with the wrong guy. Jon will use his platform and get this done, just as he did with the 9/11 First Responders. Stewart is showing everyone what it means to be a true patriot. America a could use several more just like him.

Jon Stewart told it straight. Toomey is a coward and an embarrassment to this Commonwealth. He shouldn't retire - he should resign. Maybe then we can get someone to represent us that has some backbone and morality. If he has any decency at all, he will reverse himself on this and do the right thing when the bill is again put up for a vote, but I'm sure not holding my breath.

Today has become a bewilderment to me. I am 62, not a vet, on SSDI for a valid reason and I see things like this story, The Temple fiasco and I feel ashamed. We treat other countries better than we treat our own. I get $23 a month in food stamps, just to receive a letter telling me my allotted amount will be reduced in September, 2022. The Covid issue hit the world, our allotment went up (Thankfully) and now that there's other news, some other countries needing something? I have to say I'm sorry to those who deserve(d) better and to tell all you puffed up politicians who I DID NOT VOTE IN (they greased their way into their cushy lives) that you are walking down the wrong path!
I'm not really religious and even tho it's above my pay grade to know how the end of all this is going to play out, what's going to happen, I'm honest, have integrity, do what I can to help our world. This means more to me, knowing in my heart I'm trying to walk the right road, give a helping hand and then my soul gets to see a better future. There is a place for my soul and I'll be where I'm supposed to be when I'm really needed. Death no longer scares me, it's the tragedies of everyday life for those who feel they're owed something, that I'm worried about. I'm thankful for only two grandchildren, who have parents that keep explaining this mess, trying to teach them instant gratification, don't work for anything, they talk about that road to them.
