The white man made their cars to depreciate with time. In the US, a brand new car, when bought from the show room, depreciates immediately it leaves the premises.So even when you return it, you don't get all your money back.

Then we have depreciation that happens as the years go by and this gives chance to people who couldn't afford to but them as second hand. These depreciation are as a result of the car parts or components getting old which with time becomes costly to service. However, these are the cars that make their way into Ghana and become so expensive because of duty and pricing it with the dollar equivalent.

Worst of the car prices are are those home secondhand who wants to profit off his or her fellow black man and even would complain about duty when selling a more than 10yrs old car when in reality they will not bring such an old car into the country.
In fact, the exorbitant car prices here are just about greedy sellers with the desire to rip off customers. Cars need to be appraised before a seller sells the car.

The cost of the car being high is not to do with taxes... It is the exchange rate of the dollar... If thee dollar is even 10 cedis imagine how cheaper it would be...
