There is a big difference between what you learn in business school, and what you need to know in the real world – just ask any startup founder or business owner! My goal is to focus on the real-world aspects of business, giving practical tips and tricks that are not usually covered in school.

This channel is a platform to help job seekers, entrepreneurs and business owners succeed. It is also to help the world at large to be more effective and successful in their careers. The world can certainly use more inspiring leaders, more successful entrepreneurs, more employed job seekers, and more capable managers - that is what I would like to help bring about.

Who Am I?
I am a practicing management consultant, former CEO, and entrepreneur. I have led many businesses to success, as well as several startups. Among other things, I have an engineering degree, and a master's degree in finance.

I have worked across five industries, and have worked in both large enterprise and small businesses. I have also mentored startup founders and teach business and HR at a post-graduate level.

Why I Want To Involve My Community:
The only way this channel will succeed is with YOUR help. In order to know how best to proceed, I need constant feedback from YOU. What topics should I cover? What challenges are you facing? What questions do you have? What changes should I make?

Thank you for being here and reading this, best of luck, and have yourself an amazing day!

My friend helped her husband with a job interview on video. They put up Post-it notes, with important points that he wanted to be sure to mention.
At the last minute, she noticed that those notes were reflected in a mirror behind him!
They performed a great last minute cleanup! Funny.

I had to do an "interview" using an App. They had a few questions, and I had up to three attempts to record and save/submit. It was the most impersonal process I've had to do and felt more like a deposition. If I ever get an interview like that one using an app, I will definitely not do it. It is so weird to record an answer while looking and talking to yourself on the screen.

Last but not least, I did a phone-only interview, and at about the halfway point, I could hear the interviewer's computer making sounds in the background. I realized she was pretending to listen to me. When it came to the pay rate, I was so turned off I told her: I want your highest pay rate. Of course, I did not hear from them again, and I could not care less.

I agree with every point in this video. I've run into issues before trying to connect using a hotspot. The connection was intermittent, and we had to switch to a conference call. I landed the job even after the faux pas but declined the offer.

The weirdest thing is constantly focusing on the camera not actually looking at them 🤷‍♂️

And don't be constantly sipping from a beverage or puffing a cigarette. If you have a moustache, be sure to brush your last meal off of it. ;-)
