My mom used to tell me "remember, they're just people." This helped me relax, be myself and be more conversational.

One tip someone told me "I've researched your company's mission/goals/values/etc, I'm curious how you incorporate that everyday at this company"

I watched this to prep for an interview earlier today and it helped me so much. I have horrible anxiety and hate being in high pressure situations where I have to talk about my self but this video gave me the confidence I needed to crush it! They offered me the job just a few hours later!! THANK YOU!!!!

A really good format to follow for behavioral questions is the STAR method. Situation, task, actions, and results. Focus the answer mostly on the action and result part and quantify the results if possible. This is a really great tip I got from an HR manager at Emerson!! 👍🏻👍🏻

A couple of weeks ago I sent in my application form for a part time teaching job at a theatre school for young children. I’ve shortlisted for the interview, and the employer seems very interested. My interview is in two days, and I feel sick. Seeing a lot of good advice on this video and the comments. Thank you :)
UPDATE: I GOT THE JOB!!

I did a job interview once where all the questions were tell me about a negative situational time. Like they just wanted to know all the worst things I've done in my past work experience. I knew they were testing me to pretty much eliminate myself from consideration. I was able to sway those into positive learning experiences but I didn't get the job. I felt some tension from the interviewer from the beginning I knew he didn't like me from the beginning and I showed up dressed real nice. Sometimes it's not you but the interview and their personal expectations not necessarily the company's. Stay positive and keep trying.

For those who get nervous in interviews consider this : if you’re prepared there is no reason to be nervous ….as mentioned in the video if you have real examples you can adjust those to answer any question…one way is to make the question fit your answer this takes practice and preparation but the more you do it the more comfortable you will become and interviews will be second nature. The nerves come from being unprepared

I recently got hired for a seasonal position at a local retail store, and I was prepared for pretty much anything. I was dressed properly, although I accidentally out-dressed the hiring manager, but she didn't mind at all. I had about 3 years of retail experience, and I was just myself. The biggest piece of advice that I learned is that even before the interview starts, just think to yourself "This job is already mine." Great video!
