I’ve seen 8 neurosurgeons. Only one has ever mentioned his family, it was his daughter and she’s also a neurosurgeon. 😂

"Are you married? For now."

I like how confident he sounds in his future.

I once met a neurosurgeon whose son felt very happy when he was told he was sick and needed to go to the hospital, because he thought he would see his father…

“Do you have kids?”
“I don’t know you’ll have to ask my wife.”

Absolute gold! One tiny quibble. Who is he to decide his own name?
“You tell ME when I’ve earned one”

Unfortunately, because the neurosurgeon didn't know the medical student's name, they didn't know who to send the letter of acceptance.

So they sent it to Bill.

this is actually soooo accute! Had a PD at a workshop once say " I barely read personal statements they're a waste of time and they all look the same. I'd love it if someone just straight up says that they love cutting peoples heads open, making good money, and driving fast cars instead of wandering off about how they think the brain is really fascinating. that would be refreshing"
when i tell you i was shooketh

We need one for every specialty please! I only consult neurosurg when I’m 100% sure they won’t yell at my poor intern soul 😂

We are currently doing Neurosurgery interviews at my place. The chief resident sent this clip attachment to the email telling us about the interviews, saying this may/may not be how they will go. Really cracked up the nursing / technologist staff. :)

This great skit also explains the neurology ego. In my prior multi-specialty group that rhymes with “geyser”, no one was allowed to consult directly with neurosurgery; we had to consult neurology who decided whether the case was appropriate for neurosurgery consult. You have to have the ego of “they hate us cuz they ain’t us” to approach the ego of “unlike me, you’re not exactly doing brain surgery”.

That surgeons work a lot is true, especially 20 years ago. An older surgeon at my hospital worked a lot when his son was young. Once he had a day off and wanted to cut the grass. He went to the tool shed to get the lawn mower and ran into his son. His son said to him: "You can´t use that thing. It belongs to my dad." The kid didn´t recognize his own dad.

Son of a neurosurgeon. Videos like this reiterate to me how wonderful it is that my dad loves taking care of and serving his patients, as well as working with other people, as well as the neurosurgery itself. Blessed to have him as my dad!

The one dislike is the only neurosurgeon that had a free 1.11 minutes to watch a video

A neurosurgeon gave me my life back 🙏🏽 the work that they do means so much to so many people, i can't explain how grateful i am to my NS, and all the nurses and hospital staff, so I just wanted to say thank you to all the neurosurgeons and NS students and hospital staff out there, 🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️

Two of my best friends dads are neurosurgeons. My friends have daddy issues, complaining that their dads were never home for their birthdays. Their siblings and them all hated medicine bcz of their dads. They became engineers & accountants

That attitude! This perfectly sums up every neurosurgeon I’ve ever worked with.

Had to call neurosurgery for a reconsult today. A reconsult they specifically requested after we finished x-ray and neurography. The neurosurgeon was annoyed with the reconsult because the patient had his symptoms for over a year now and referred to their outpatient clinic. Thx guys.
