Why I Don't Drink Alcohol + The Benefits I've Experienced

In this video I talk about why I haven't had a sip of alcohol for over 5 years, and why I never will again.

Alcohol is poison and a foreign substance, and contributes to an acidic body, which creates an environment ideal for disease to thrive. It causes weight gain, dehydration and kills brain cells. It acts as a drug by giving you a high when you drink, then when you stop drinking, you feel down, and it becomes a viscous cycle causing you to think about when the next party is, when you can next drink etc. It stresses your liver and kidneys and distorts your perception of reality.

By quitting drinking alcohol you’ll regain your health, build real solid relationships, you’ll save money, have more natural energy, your skin complexion will improve, you’ll feel more refreshed in the morning, you’ll never have to nurse a hangover again, improved sleep, you’ll experience more happiness and so much more!

How does alcohol play a part in your diet? Or do you not drink either? Let me know what your thoughts are on the subject :)

I stopped drinking alcohol 4 months ago and tonight I wanted to have a drink so I came to youtube to find a reason not to. Thank you for posting this video as it helped me make it through another day without drinking.

Haven't had alcohol in almost 5 years... feel amazing to be completely sober at the end of a night out. Seeing my friends wasted makes me realized how dumb I looked when drunk.

So inspiring to find other non-drinkers; it’s a perspective that gets completely ignored in the mainstream. Thx!

A little alcohol is ok but my problem is that I find it hard to stop once started. Many nights of stupid actions and words spoken I regret. I need to stop

Your comment about being more yourself while off alcohol has hit home. I feel so much stronger, aligned, and that I truly value my time here on this earth. I would like to quit alcohol myself. I haven’t drank for, hmm like 2-3 weeks now. And I would like to stop. I never drank everyday or anything, however when I did drink, it would be hard for me to stop. And would do nothing but make me crave more addictive substances.
I am thankful for your beautiful video. Your words of self worth and your love for healthy living makes me feel less ashamed of wanting to be and feel genuinely healthy. Thanks!!

Top video and top attitude!!! It’s taken me to the age of 36 to realise I’m done with alcohol, and I’m 100% feeling better in every way. I’m also able to be the father and husband I need to be for my beautiful family.

I'm struggling with not drinking. Having one beer can send me on a spiral. Alcohol makes me feel unmotivated after the buzz wears off, and also makes me crave unhealthy food, and turns me more into a compulsive eater. When I'm not drinking, I'm super healthy and active. I intermittent fast, and eat only whole, real food. Nothing processed. I do a daily yoga practice, and isha kriya meditation every night after my son goes to bed. I feel so absolutely amazing when i keep this up. It's real, authentic happiness that alcohol doesn't compare but yet, I still am tempted to get a drink when I feel down or a little stressed about something. That effortless, carefree, happy delirium is so appealing to me, even when I know it will likely have negative effects. One entire week can be ruined from spiraling to bad habits from just one drink. This past week has been one of those weeks. I hate it. It makes me feel lost, and not in flow... which is such a desperate feeling when you've been accustomed to being purely happy, in your true self. Sometimes I can have a drink, and it's fine... I think that's why I go back to it. I rationalize that it won't send me spiraling this time, because sometimes it doesn't, and I just have a good time. I think alcohol has its place, but I'm having difficulty finding a balance with it. I just love feeling tipsy/drunk so damn much, and I'm damn good at rationalizing. Ugh.

Alcohol is ruining my relationships.
I’m on the verge of losing my job. My weight is up. I’m losing my mind a little bit. Alcohol is doing a number on me. I must quit.

Thank you so much for this.
I have actually been realizing that I both want and need to rid alcohol from my life.
Not only is it undoubtedly causing a huge roadblock in getting to the weight I want to be at, but I am also tired of feeling like shit the entire next day. And then that spirals into me eating like shit....and the cycle continues.
Your encouraging words as to how amzing you feel without putting that toxin into your body has truly been helpful.
Thank you again. 😊❤

I was never a big drinker but when I did drink I binged- I've decided to give up alcohol for good because I hated the anxiety that came with being hungover and also how unproductive I became in the week that followed the binge. I want to be able to enjoy myself without alcohol. Thank you, loved the video! 😊

I'm a daily drinker. I don't get drunk or have hangovers- But it's a daily routine. One or two glasses of wine or a beer or two, always after 6pm. .
but I don't want to be dependant anymore on a daily basis. I'm testing myself
.I want more energy, clarity and I want to remember how to use the mornings fully instead of grinding to a slow start around midday. I'm currently on day two without anything. Never gone more than a week without a drink, and that was over ten years ago. Even if i made it to a fortnight ~I'd be happy.

I mean everything in moderation. Going to extremes with alcohol is not absolutely necessary. A few drinks a week is okay, especially red wine. But yes for people who have an addiction problem it makes total sense.
