Thank you! I finally found someone who agrees with me on IT. I honestly gave up on that one. I found myself saying, "OMG just get to the point already!" It was way too much of a chore and I wasn't enjoying myself at all. Maybe I'll try again someday, but just haven't felt the urge yet.

Read Cujo again in 20 years and it will tear your heart out. I thought it was so effective and sad. Amazing.

I read 10 of the Stephen King books that you have. Mostly in my teens. Now in my 60s. The Stand was my favorite. Only read the original, not the later expanded edition. Dead Zone was an under rated favorite. Great memory with the Different Seasons novellas. The Body became the movie, Stand by Me, I believe. Green Mile was released in those thin paperbacks (great memory again) and I happened to be a buyer for a book wholesaler at the time. Stephen King sent a form letter to buyers explaining how Charles Dickens used to do this and he wanted to try it also. Well, he saw my name and added a PS to my letter and I still have it framed to this day. Just so you know, I do plan on making 11/22/63 my next SK read. John Henry

I've recently started reading Stephen King again in my 60s andi enjoyed the Mr. Mercedes series. I loved the character development of Bill, Holly, Jerome, ect even more than the story . I also really enjoyed reading Fairy tale. His movies tend to not adapt all that well to the big screen. I'm reading Holly right now, which I'm really enjoying.

I like how you've been unique with your tier list and not following 90% of other people's lists with IT or The Stand at number one

This is such a great video Laura!!! Ive never read a SK book so this was genuinely so informative to me to point me to which ones are best!!!
Ive always said if i read a SK book itll be The Shining because its one of my favorite films! But also i loved the film for the novella "in the tall tall grass" like i think about that movie ALL OF THE TIME and will probably have to read this one at some point!!!

I’ve only read two of his: Fairy Tale and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I would rate them both as Decent or Solid… probably more towards Solid for both, so I’ll definitely check out some of your higher ranked ones of his! I think maybe Carrie, Christine, or Misery next!

Hi! I just came over after watching the video you tagged Mikala in and I'm glad I came over! I've been reading more Stephen King lately so I'm super excited for this video!

Okay so so far I am definitely sold on 11/22/63 (i have it actually but haven't gotten to it yet) and also Christine! I'm glad you said it's underrated bc I definitely fall under the category of not thinking I'd enjoy it much but now I'll definitely have to try it!

This was an amazing video! Thus far my favorite King book I've read is The Shining, but I've only read a few compared to you! You've inspired me!

Always love to find other SK Tier Lists! I have read everything by King and can’t wait to start his new collection of stories from You Like It Darker! ‘Salem’s Lot is my all time favorite!

My favorite Stephen King book is Rose Madder, granted I have not read a lot of his latest releases. I definitely need to get back on the SK journey.

I always disagree with people about the The Gunslinger and Cujo. I think those are two of the best books he's ever written, but it seems like the consensus is that they're either mid tier or awful. I think it's interesting because the reason I love Cujo so much is the reason I love Christine so much. I'd argue that they're actually very similar novels, both in the way they're structured and the general concept behind them. The emotional and psychological realism that he employs to render the characters is what makes both books great. I like those books because I cared about the characters. Their internal dialogue felt genuine and compelling to me and this is what makes King's classic period classic in the first place. I'm genuinely mystified by how somebody could like Christine and not get the same thing out of Cujo, but y'know what they say about opinions, I guess.

Love finders keepers. Easily best of the series. I wish it was a standalone and it was longer.

How is Misery not more boring than Cujo - I just can't understand :)
Read Cujo as a kid over 30 years ago so it could be that it is more interesting for kids than adults but I read Misery this summer and it was dull and boring beyond comprehension... but that's different tastes for you :)
