How To Fix Error Code 0x80004005 When Trying To Delete A Folder In Windows 10

In this Windows 10 tutorial, I will be showing you how to fix the error 0x80004005 that pops up when trying to delete a folder on your PC or laptop. If you go to delete a folder on your Windows 10 computer then you may have had the 0x8000405: Unspecified error pop up. It will say "An unexpected error is keeping you from deleting this folder". This is usually due to a permissions error which can easily be resolved by watching the video above so that you can delete your chosen folder without getting the 0x80004005 error warning.

Unfortunately for me it didn't work.
In my case, I can't even access the security options.

I'm trying to delete 5 folders that were created while I downloaded a zipped file via googledrive. I extracted the files and then deleted the compressed ones. Then an error happened and it took more than 10 minutes to delete the compressed files. Only then did I realize that the files still hadn't been completely extracted and the deletion ended up corrupting them and the extracted folders.

Now, I can neither delete these folders nor download the files again.

Thanks for the video!! My issue was that somehow in my fiddling, I had removed the [name]/Users listing in the Security. I added the listing again, enabled Full Access, and it worked beautifully. Thanks for you help!!

If the method mentioned above in the video isn't successful open command prompter with admin rights and try:

rmdir "\\?\path\to\directory" /S


Note: That you _do_ need \\?\ in front of the path.

I'm having this error but when I go to the security tab is doesn't show anything but "The requested security information is either unavailable or can't be displayed." I've also noted that the folder has 0 bytes both in the size catagory and the "size on disk" catagory.

Something I never see is when I click on the Security tab in Properties there is no security displayed. This is a game hack folder I am trying to delete. I view this malicious. What say you @ComputerSluggishTutorials ?
