Mario odyssey is a must have, but Minecraft is… meh. You could get it for an extra copy but for a main way to play…. I would rather play on pc or mobile.

Warning for Pokemon Sword and Shield: if you have a sensitivity to "Dark Mode" (light text on a dark background), Sword and Shield are utterly unplayable because the highlight text is unreadable due to the terrible, migraine-inducing, vision-blurring colors. Though Scarlet/Violet also have a dark-ish theme, it's not as stark as Sword/Shield and can be played (though you might have a reaction to it, depending on your sensitivity, it's not as bad as the horrid colors in Sword/Shield). Just an FYI for others like me!

Year later, extra tips. If you prefer gameplay, get Sword/Shield, but if you prefer story, get Scarlet/Violet. Playing Violet actually made me shed a tear more than once in several scenes.

It's rare to find Sword and Shield at a cheap price. The weird thing about Pokémon games is they go up in price over time

I don't recommend looking at how much Black & White are being sold for...

The problem is... Minecraft fricking sucks on switch. Name one thing in the world that's slower that it.

Minecraft Switch edition also has an official mod and skins made by Nintendo, and the realistic mod, which, updates textures of preexisting blocks... Yay...
Edit: the downsides is that it always crashes, and it requires a subscription service to play online, which we know it's switch online. For cross-playing you need an Xbox account.
