I don’t understand why everyone’s so upset. This looks incredible for a PS2 game!

There are TONS of people that can do a perfect impression of that Gollum voice, they couldn't find a single one?

Ah yes my favourite Lord of the Rings character, ‘Candle Man’.

I have to admit-the voice of the Mouth Of Sauron is literally the only good thing in this game. His voice is so smooth and relaxing yet sinister and evil.

this is straight up comedy, can't believe that actually continued with this game lmfao

So Sauron just wanted to offer Gollum a drink? That doesn't sound so bad.

Imagine if Tolkien was around to see his works adapted into trash like this....

Peter Jacksons lord of the rings stands alone because of the passion that was within the project. I truly believe now there is no level that will reach that..

Im actually amazed that after Christopher Tolkien's death, the entire Tolkien estate was sold off to make shitty videogames, mobile apps, trading cards, tv shows, and other forms of actual trash. The people who allowed this should be ashamed. It competely shits on J.R. Tolkien's and Christopher Tolkien's legacies.

"This is a death sentence."
"Only if one dies!"
"Well, um...true, fair, it's a suicide mission!"
"Only if one kills themselves!"
"Alright, you are taking shit way too literally."
"Only if one shits themselves!"
"Alright I am out, byeeee."

Candle Man? Great name for a villain, right up there with the Matrix Revolutions baddie "Train Man" ...who, funnily enough, was played by the same guy who was the Mouth of Sauron in the Peter Jackson movie.

It's okay. We still have Shadow Of Mordor and the OG games.

This is the most detailed DS game I've seen, truly a marvel how they did it.

This is incredibly fascinating as an artistic take. I think in some weird way it's incredibly faithful to the books - the way you've got these robed officials in Barad Dur plotting and scheming on behalf of the Dark Lord. It reminds me of the descriptions of Barad Dur in the books having all these, "courts and chambers." But for what? There were lots of interesting hints that the upper machinery of the Dark Lord's dominions were very sophisticated.

One good note on this game is that, atleast it was faithful to the books and timeline of LOTR. With the exception of making Sauron the eye (if they didnt do that, it would of been amazing lore wise). Gollum did get imprisoned in Mordor by Sauron and his telling of the Shire and Baggins is what started the War of the Rings. He was personally allowed to live by Sauron because Sauron, being a Maia, felt Gollum had a part to play in the world. He was caught by Aragorn and then sent to Mirkwood and from there escaped and got lost in Moria, where he would then meet the fellowship as we see in the movies and book. Overall, they did a good job at making their story not interfere with pre-existing lore of Tolkien's world. Unfortunately the story sucked but nevertheless points where they're due!
