Most people forget that it's not always the video causing the lag. It's almost as often audio. Get a DAC > Change audio-driver from MME to ASIO = Significantly less lag, even without pre-rendering.

00:27 That's not quite true, sadly. If you make edits the lagging will come back. You have to prerender the video every time. I don't know why but Premiere Pro has been really struggling performance wise for me for the last year.
