Didn't completely resolve the issue but it has improved a ton, thank you. I just need to remember to set my sequence settings back to normal before I export.

I did what you did and my footage was still choppy both in playback and exported file so what I did that fixed it is to simply match the sequence item settings of fps to match exactly those of the image sequence of my imported animation (which shows in its properties upon being selected), so since my image sequence is 29.97p (fps type) then I had to also change the sequence to 29.97p and also changed the clip's "Time Interpolation" to "Frame Blending" and now finally it is completely smooth without choppiness but then unfortunately I'm limited to the 1080p res' which I can't change to match my animation. (Edit : also using the frame blending time interpolation is not really a solution since now my exported animation is kinda blurry and not clearly visible so its smooth but not ideal sharpness of image wise)

Would be helpful to know what settings I need to change to export it in full 4k once I've made these changes to the sequence. Or do I not need to do anything?

Is there an option to do this while keeping my video vertical? I am editing a vertical video where all my clips are either 1080x1920 or 2160x3840. Choosing the "1080 square pixel" switches the aspect ratio to horizontal, and wont allow me to change it back as long as that is selected.

I'm wondering why you would uncheck proxies. Aren't proxies one of the biggest solutions to choppy playback? Just curious. Thank you for the great tips, too!

Update, instead of select info edit for preferences you now select premier pro at the top left corner. Thanks for this video super helpful

absolutely awful. ruined my video I spent 3 hours editing and now I cant get it beck to the correct aspect ratio and resolution I cant believe you would make this video and then not tell people at the end how to export it correctly instead of just saying that you have to export it correctly

it was clear until you said "you might get an alert once you press ok to Sequence setting it might say "it doesn't match sequence setting" to just press "keep existing settings" but you didn't say how, and I cant' find that option.

this works great! but it zooms in 50% on every 4k clip by default. any way of avoiding this?
