It's obvious because all people who proclaim SS have contradicting beliefs among themselves.

But even more so, you can't get Biblical Trinitarianism (IE: Orthodox Trinity) with SS, I think that's an even more powerful refutation of SS!

To be fair the Jews look at those books as important books, but not canonical or the word of God. None of the books in the apocrypha were part of the Oral Torah Tradition. Maybe Enoch could have been that is about it.

Oh man, the only thing one needs to stop believing in sola Scriptura is evidence (of any type) that other forms of revelation are also infallible.

Forget about the word “authority” we’re not talking about that, we can easily accept other authorities, but it’s about INFALLIBILITY.

If scripture is the only INFALLIBLE revelation, then that’s what we mean by sola Scriptura. !!

"That which is inspired" should be the final standard. But the litmus test of inspiration should be compatibility with that which is *known* to be inspired.

In other words: If I claim inspiration and say "Let's all worship this head of lettuce by having sex with barnyard animals", you know I'm full of crap, because this contradicts Scripture, which is known to be inspired.

If people reject Scripture and listen to me, then spend 1, 000 years sexin' up a goat until lettuce-themed goat sex becomes" tradition", they're heretics, even though they're heretics for a really long time 😶

If an oral tradition is out of step with written tradition, it's best to stick to the written. Better the God you know than the potential devil you DON'T know. So it's less a case of "Scripture only" than "better safe than sorry".

That's why the Apostles praised the people of Berea as "more noble" than other believers (I'm looking at you, Corinthians) because instead of just accepting the oral tradition the Apostles taught them, "searched the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so". They didn't berate them for rejecting Apostolic authority, they praised them for authenticating it.

In fact they were always saying things like "believe not every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God"; or if anyone, even an Apostle or an actual angel preached a different Gospel, let them be accursed. (And if course you only know of various oral traditions *from Scripture*, including the Apostolic.)

If you don't follow the Berean model, which is really the *APOSTOLIC* model, you end up like the RCC. Where you just make up shit and when people say: "That directly contradicts Scripture", you dismiss it with "Scripture must be interpreted in the light of church doctrine" and propagate heresy based on the authority of the Church. Which is crazier than a piss-ant go-cart going around the inside of a Cheerio.
