PRP Injection for Trochanteric Bursitis & Gluteal Tendinopathy

Показать описание
This video will review PRP injection for gluteal tendinopathy and hip bursitis. Pain in the outside of the hip is incredibly common and can be difficult to treat. Imaging studies show that most people have a condition called gluteal tendinopathy rather than hip bursitis. And gluteal tendinopathy is an overloading and overuse condition involving the muscle and tendons at the outside of the hip. Randomized controlled trials show that people who get PRP injections for gluteal tendinopathy show incredible results. Pain and symptom relief sustained for over 2 years, all with just one injection. Professional and collegiate athletes are no longer getting cortisone injections. They are all getting PRP.

► Things my patients have found helpful:
Please note that I get a lot of requests and questions about what equipment is ‘best’ for treating a variety of conditions. The following is not meant to be an exhaustive or definitive list. Please use it as a starting point. If you have questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider. With that said, I have tried a number of the products below, but not all. I have included some based on positive feedback from many of my patients. As an Amazon Associate, Dr Peng earns from qualifying purchases. Thank you. At my ortho visit, the Dr poked his finger below my hips where there was pain and said u have bursitis. Didn’t offer any treatment. He says he does “joints” and walked out.😥

Thank you. Not understanding why you are not getting more feedback. Excellent video. To the point. My wife has had great results with PRP in her knee, which delayed a knee replacement for 3 years.

Thank you for this video, it gives me hope. About 3 years ago i broke my hip/femur and I've had a lot of pain since then. After seeing many doctors including a drauma doctor, i finally got a hip specialist . I got cortisone injections only twice and pain did get a little better. About a week ago i got PRP and my last diagnosis was torn gluteus medius and maximum/ bursitis. My hip specialist said this could have happened due to the surgery itself, i have one rod and 2 screws.

Thank you for the video. Are you able to make a video on the current research for the efficacy of PRP for arthritis in the SI joints?

Outstanding lecture and so true if not fixing mainly gluteus medius tendinopathy, then you get only partial response

Thank you I'm getting a PRP injection on Friday praying it helps I've been in pain for a long time. Do you recommend physical therapy after a PRP injection? Are all PRP injections always have to be done under ultrasound guidance?

My doctor draws 15 CC’s for the PRP therapy. Should I still go through with it?

Hi Dr Peng, I enjoy your videos and the information that they provide. Do you know if there are studies that show significant benefits in using PRP injections if you have severe hip osteoarthritis? I know that there are if you have mild or moderate osteoarthritis. Thank you in advance!

My truly respects for your outstanding presentations. Are there different PRP kits for Leucocyte Rich PRP and Leucocyte Poor PRP preparations? In your experience is LR PRP better for tendon injections? The literature data suggests so.And should the injection always be done intratendinous?
