Hip Pain Overlying the Greater Trochanter Bursa

preview_player
Показать описание
Ultrasound guided injection of the grater trochanter allows careful deposition of steroid or adjunct into the superficial greater trochanteric bursa in patients with localized hip pain. Visualize the bony cortex of the greater trochanter and insert needle under usual sterile technique until enter the bursa if it is fluid filled or you hit the cortex of underlying bone.

I've had my hips injected multiple times and my dr has never used this machine. He's also hit the exact spot I need everytime. These injections are a Godsend for anyone suffering with this.

Why are you injecting on the bone (below the tendon) rather than in to the trochanteric bursa? The bursa is above the gluteus medius tendon, not below the tendon??

For everyone confused about the machine, a lot of DRs just use it as an extra precaution to make sure they’re getting that target area.

what about Aspiration first to get rid of any fluid? ... and then use PRP or Stem Cell?

Is it protocol to want the patient to sign a waiver (not a consent form) prior to this procedure? My doctor wanted me to sign a waiver which made me nervous, so I declined procedure. Still in pain, so i guess I will sign waiver and have procedure.

@ Clarius Mobile Health Is there a possibility that they can miss the inflamed area when they give the injection? I had an injection last week and it seems that the NP was no where near the origin of the pain when she gave me the injection.
