this gets funnier thinking about how Eliwood is the one FE lord dad who manages to live to the end of the story of both his own adventures but as well as his son’s own journeys too 🤣

Byleth: My dad wants to be sure you're not gonna use me to teach and form a military organization in the form of a church and school while conducting experiments.

Lucina: My dad wants me to stay healthy.

Marth: Technically I am kind of a grandfather here.

Makes sense. According to Smash Ultimate, Roy is 15. He can’t really sign off on anything legally binding without a parent/guardian

Roy: Hey dad, this guy want to use me
Eliwood: *Takes up his pen* Oh, he is so screwd

Good job Eliwood. Protect your son! Roy has enough forced merc work because of Zephiel's war. Doesn't need more just because of "Baby's first anime OC"

At least Eliwood is a loving and caring father to Roy.

Robin, Corrin and Alear are sobbing in the corner wishing their dads were anything like that.

The way Roy speaks is so in character to how he actually is in fe6. All other times we see Roy it seems based on his hothead fiery protagonist smash persona

I think this might be the most accurate depiction of Roy's personality I've seen

I mean, he's got a point there. Eliwood knows what he's talking about, especially considering what happened with the prince he and his allies rescued.

Every time one the nobles' parents was being threatened, I'd be like "cool, you're about to become a Fire Emblem protagonist!"

Ike did this *without* talking with Greil first, because he most likely taught Ike about getting a good work contract before he died. They were mercenaries by trade, so that thing is sort of essential. Plus, any time he needed the contract re-examined, Soren would most likely help him, no questions asked.

I feel like Alear would be dealing with this more often if he could summon characters from other series like Mario or even The Venture Bros for example

"At least you're not going to get any ideas like this, right Ike? Your dad's dead."
"...yes. Yes he is. Before he died, however, he taught me everything important about working as a mercenary. INCLUDING relevant labor laws. And I'm with the kid on this one."

Tbf, Roy is a special case because his Dad was also a Fire Emblem Protagonist.
But meanwhile Chrom, Robin, and Corrin all had villains for fathers.

Even before his game, Eliwood is the only main lord’s dad who isn’t killed or evil.

ELIWOOD THE GOATED DAD
You love to see it

We gotta respect Roy’s time 😤

Counterpoint:
Being Eligood is suffering. Pure, exquisite suffering. And we need more Eligoods in our Fire Emblem.

Eliwood is a good father, making sure Roy is treated fairly for his hard work.

"Responsible parents? Since when?!"
