Fire Emblem characters all look the same

There are FE characters with different faces. They're usually called "axe units."

The same face example is cause of the smash art style tho. In official portraits Chrom and Marth have completely different faces

This is a smash only problem. Even if the characters are in the same Fire Emblem game they look different even with the similarities. It’s really smash bros art style that has same face syndrome.

Smash Players might not know
Fire Emblem has like 800+ characters. And though there are similar designs, I think
they actually pull off characters standing out quite well. My favorite example of this is in Fire Emblem Heroes, they always tease new heroes with silhouettes of art we've never seen before. But you can still tell who it is even though there's like 800 characters to choose from. Fire Emblem also changes their style with each game so you can tell by looking at a character which title they're from.

Chrom Marth and Lucina's color palette look like this because its a family tradition thing. Even Cornelius had a similar palette in the flashback.

To be fair, its probably more accurate to say that "fire emblem main characters/characters in smash look the same". Looking at the very large cast of all of fire emblem, many have pretty distinct looks. Its the lords that look similar mainly

It’s almost as if you take a bunch of varying art styles done by different artists and cram them all into one game with a uniform art style done by one artist that they start to look similar, wow, truly unexpected

Reminder that Fire Emblem has more characters than the ones in Smash that are all beautifully and uniquely designed (As unique as hundreds of designs all in the same art style can be)

Normally each FE game gets a new artists so they don't look all that much similar, it's kind off Smash's models fault for them to look like that in game
