SUMMARY
- If you notice that significant hair loss occurs more than twice a year and for longer than a month, it's time to ring the alarm. The possible reasons might be connected with pregnancy, physical and emotional stress, dramatic weight loss and other changes your system may go through.
- Even the most powerful hormonal drugs can’t force cells to divide at a higher speed, which is why no cosmetic products can make your hair grow faster. The growth speed is a genetic trait, and it is usually 0.5 inch a month.
- The foam and shampoo leftovers that are on the hair while rinsing will be enough to cleanse the whole hair length. However, it’s vice versa with conditioner: you should apply it only to the hair itself. Hair roots are naturally healthier and get oily much quicker, and so the moisturizing effect of a conditioner is not needed.
- Hair dryers, as well as different hair curlers, negatively affect only "bare hair" — hair that is not protected by any styling products. If you use special cosmetic products for hair styling, such as a hair foam or some thermal protection, you don’t need to worry about the health of your hair. But it doesn't mean that you should choose the hottest setting on your blow dryer and go for it – moderation is the key here.
- In some ways, regular hair cutting does improve its state – when you remove the split ends your hair start to look way healthier and even a bit thicker. So, the power of a good haircut definitely shouldn't be underestimated; therefore, it still has its boundaries.
- Usually, babies lose some of the hair or all of it around four months of age or later. Then, new “adult” hairs start to grow, and they can have a different structure and color from the previous ones. Still, the thickness of it doesn't change that much.
- The actual possibility of keratin straightening sounds very attractive, but, in fact, it's way more dangerous for your hair than you may think. Of course, the formula composition for keratin straightening has improved over the years. Initially, it contained formaldehyde, used in autopsies.
- Scientists have discovered that blondes have more hair than brunettes and redheads. However, their hair is much thinner, and that's where the illusion of less hair comes from. That’s the main reason why natural blondes can rarely boast about their thick and dense hair, while redheads always cause sighs of envy.
- Over tightening may easily damage your hair follicles, which will most certainly lead to the hair loss. But don't worry, the hairdo itself is completely safe and won't cause any harm to your hair.
- Dandruff is a sign of the extra work of your sebaceous glands, due to which an extra amount of exfoliated skin particles appears. That’s why you can’t "get infected" with dandruff by trying on another person’s cap or by borrowing his comb. Unfortunately, the possible reasons for dandruff are still unclear.
- Women’s hair gets thinner due to constant styling, dying, and different experiments in hair salons. Men, in their turn, are more conservative when it comes to taking care of and styling their hair and hairdos, which is why their hair more often stays denser and healthier.

I lost all of my hair during chemotherapy in 2015. I asked my doctor for prenatal vitamins, and my new hair is so much better. I haven't put any harsh chemicals on it, nor heat. I have naturally curly hair that was always fragile, I think the vitamins made a huge difference. I'm over 40, and don't even color my hair- don't need to.

As an African American I'm going to take these 11 things with a grain of salt because none of what is mentioned can assist that comes with the natural tight curl pattern of our hair before we straighten it. But some of it was interesting

Genetics really do play a role on how fast your hair grows. My hair is SUPER long and SUPER thick and I wash it and condition it, I don’t use hair dryers or straighten it or anything but in two years my hair has grown from shoulder length to down past my hips, so genetics play a role on how healthy your hair is and how fast it grows

Actually as someone who wore a ponytail for years i can honestly say it can be damaging if you wear the darn thing in the same place every day. That spot tends to break or become brittle even if you don't tighten it super tight. Food for thought.

i am a hairstylist and I agree with the majority of this but not all. keratin treatments can infact help damaged and distressed hair it will however distroy someones healthy protine rich hair because it will harden and break off from over keratinization. pony tails dont make hair fall out but do cause breakage especially if you consistently wear it in the same spot. have you ever notice your hair growth to platue at the shoulders or chin and it seems to never grow past that point? most usually its because your not trimming the split ends often enough. your hair is actually growing but the split ends are growing up the hair shaft and breaking off giving it the appearance that it isnt growing, so make sure to get regular trims. there was a few other things i cant remeber unless i go threw the video again, but in general this video was pretty accurate.

Question 5. True, when you cut your hair, you have to trim at least half an inch off for full trim, if you don’t, your split ends will become larger and then bottom and low center will become brittle and your bottom hairs will snap off!! My mom and neighbor and aunt are all hair dressers so I know my stuff 🤗

Things I’ve learned from experience: Too much Biotin will cause an itchy scalp and bumps; don’t take over 5, 000 mgs a day. Wellbutrin causes hair loss, and I can say that because I was on it twice, and it happened each time. Within a month of stopping it, so did the hair loss. Losing hair is also a sign of an under-active thyroid.

Eating the right vitamins and putting proper nutrition on the hair scalp DOES make it grow faster. It makes sure the hair has what it needs to grow thicker and faster. You just need the right stuff. I grew my hair an inch in like 3 weeks when it took me like 3 months for half an inch before ... rice water especially is really good for speeding hair growth and thin places that had no hair before on my edges have even started to grow back and are quite long for the short amount of time I've done it.

If you hair is at max growth speed and has 100% of everything it needs already then it probably wouldn't speed up growth. But if your hair lacks any of these things then it will definitely grow faster. Don't believe everything you hear on the internet folks

I always cut my hair in summer and it grows relatively normal/fast (I never measured how much), but a few years ago I used a product to stop my hair from falling out and it had as a side effect increased hair growth. I am pretty sure I wasn't imagining that my hair grew twice as fast...
