Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a very common condition involving decreased airflow due to obstruction and in the presence of respiratory effort. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is caused by too much relaxation or collapse muscles and tissues in the neck and throat, including the tongue, which can lead to partial or near complete obstruction. Thank you for this. My husband & I both suffer from OSA. I have hypothyroidism & we both are diabetic/overweight. This makes me realize it's time for us both to get a checkup since it's been awhile that we've seen our sleep doctor. This was very helpful. God bless.

I resolved my obstructive sleep apnea by diet change.

Reduced my omega-6 fat intake significantly, eliminated most sugar, and fast 16-20 hours a day.

Inflammation went down all over my body, includingy sinuses.

With clear sinuses, I breath through my nose, even when I obstruct.

These changes also eliminated near all my allergies, as well as arthritis and chronic pain. After 2 years, it has nearly eliminated my asthma and I no longer need medication.

This drastic improvement in sleep quality, fixed my minor ED issues, and eliminated my bipolar and depression issues.

I do sometimes use a nose strip to help, especially if I have a little stuffy nose, or eat things I shouldn't.

BMI 27
Neck 42cm
No CPAP or BiPAP needed for me.

I have OSA and stopped breathing 36 times an hour. I lost a lot of weight and I was checked and now I stop breathing 11 times an hour. So I am borderline. I couldn't get on with the mask you have to wear.

Apps like Sleep Cycle that record your snoring episodes can be really helpful in the absence of a significant other to witness them. That’s how I found out I am having hypopnias

Deep or REM sleep? So if you don't sleep well, then it can't be it.
