Slow-cooked lamb shanks are succulent, flavorsome and literally fall-off the bone. Smothered in tomato sauce which simmers away for hours, this recipe uses fragrant herbs which infuse the shanks and when cooked with time they become so moist and tender the whole family will devour them.

I love to eat Lamb Shanks with bread but many of you prefer to serve it with polenta, cous cous pearls or even pasta.

I love lamb! It can be hard to cook properly and I’ve never really tried. My mom always roasted a leg for Easter. We’re going out for Easter so I’ll order it, but I think even I can do this recipe. Cooking it slowly is the key. I would eat it with a good crusty bread. 🥰 The leftover sauce? Not a problem. Save it in the freezer for later. I love that your son loves it too. Kids should eat real food. Thank you Vincenzo! 💕

+1 amazing Video, Vincenzo. * That is a genious Recipe. * As a Yougster of 16 Years, I cooked my first Lanb Shoulder. I did it proveçal Style. I placed it in Redwine with Herbs de Provence, Garlic, Black Pepper, Bay Leafs and Cloves for a 24 Hours. Then I used a Sieve to get the Herbs out of the Redwine which I kept for the Sauce. The Shoulder got fried untill it was nice brown everywhere. I used Carrots, Onions and Celery during the Frying and also concentrated Tomato Paste. Slow cooked Everything for 4 Hours in Meat Stock with Salt and the Redwine. I Server it with Potato Gratin. My Parents were impressed. I love any Kind of Lamb.

Hey Vincenzo. I made a variation of this brilliantly simple recipe.
I had a lamb breast rolled joint, I did add mushrooms, and later some garlic and a little chillie. But I need to eat veg, so later added some that was in the fridge. So a great meal. but loads of great sauce for more great food:)
Not quite traditional, but. I don't need to cook sauce or veg for three next meals Just add cheese and pasta:):) So cool!

Hi Vincenzo! I work at a Turkish restaurant, and we make lamb shanks. Your lamb shanks look amazing. Of course, it is a similar process, but is lemon juice okay when brazing?
