One of my favorite tips in crochet! Have you tried it yet?
The best way to have straight and smooth edges! No extra gaps or extra bulk!
Since you all love tips so much, this one is one of my most popular ones!

Tutorial:
✖️🔴 ch3, dc in the following st
✖️🔴 ch2, dc in the same st
✔️🟢stacked sc stitch aka alternative turning chain
PS: for taller stitches like tr etc just add extra sc stitches on top of the stacked sc stitch to create the height needed!

This is the best explanation of the stacked chain I have seen in 40yrs of crocheting.

I used to do a double height sc in the first stitch after turning then chaining 2. It was not great but had no bulk.

The only time I do the ch 3, sk 1, then dc in next st is if I am making blocks that will later be crocheted together. I use the holes to make the stitching easier.

I waa crocheting a blanket for three hours before i noticed how wonky the edges looked and then frogged it twice and re did it with no success. now i found this !!!! Straight edges st lasy. Thank you 😊
