Ground interaction can help mobility, core strength, awareness and develop a more confident, pain-free body. Whatever gets you close to the ground whether it's animal movement, natural movements, primal movements...will benefit your body immensely.

In Eastern cultures the ground is an essential part of the day, but in our own western culture it almost seems try to avoid the ground as much as possible. Well here are four reasons that Josh and Trevor believe we need to rethink our relationship with the ground that may just surprise you. Do you touch the ground daily? Do you take your shoes off and feel the earth? Consider integrating the ground in your daily life and let us know how it goes for yo. I’m 61 years old and your channel has just informed me about squatting and crawling. I really like the crawling and just moving around on the ground with my grandkids! It’s a blast! Thank you.

As a former Activity Director in a nursing home, exercise was my main activity. My program became so popular that I ended up visiting many homes in the county. Seeing first hand how much falls impact senior citizens is disturbing, it's also expensive, costing my state alone over 60 million dollars annually. ( hospital stay, family members taking time off work for care) so keeping the core strong and being acquainted with the ground is a must. Seeing seniors that were permanently disabled because they fell and couldn't move for hours is heartbreaking. Everyone should practice these moves in preparation for aging. Thanks for the awesome video!

I used to love rolling as a kid! There's so much we stop doing as teens and adults, that we shouldn't, just because we worry about what people will say! Let's start playing again!🌻💚

I have Pars Defect and am only 21 years old. I’ve dealt with it for over two years and it leaves me hopeless for recovery most days. But things like this, tips and advice like this that is the most natural thing possible, gives me hope. Thank you for what you do

Continuously amazed at how well you guys deliver these beautiful nuggets of movement. I'll admit, I started spending more time on the ground after your squat video months ago. Now I'm hooked on stretching while touching the ground or floor. Whether it be my wrists, knees, calves, etc, the more time I spend on the floor, the better I feel when I do these stretches or exercises. In fact, I started goofing around more at the climbing gym by doing shoulder roils and back falls in a controlled manner out of the blue. Having learned much of this years ago when I was a kid in martial arts, it all came back to me once I developed a more intimate relationship with the ground, pad, or floor. Kudos guys!

More people should take your advice about working the floor for sure. I got very lucky with this lesson years ago. Everyone listen to this strength side fella. I been livin off my mats for years and its a HUGE blessing. Spend your time lying around on the floor and getting up off it many times a day. Good luck.

Thank you so much. I loved to sit on the ground, but now with overweight and pains in my body I just stopped doing that. I miss my floor...you gave me a good puch and inspiration to start again. Very grateful. Wish you Love and light.

When my first kid was 18 months we moved to a fixer upper with hardly any furniture. We ate sitting on the floor and of course played on the floor.

When my oldest was 2 year old, I got pregnant.

I owe this lack of furniture to the recovery of my pelvic floor and diastasis rectus, which was a bigger problem for be with my first pregnancy and postpartum time.

This is so real guys!!! I was watching a video recently about some very traumatized women and children in Mozambique, aside from the trauma of their insanely precarious life situation, I noticed how comfortably they rested just sitting on the ground with their legs together placed full length straight out from their core body. I was thinking “I so could not sit like that for more then a minute” God bless these poor folk for their resilience in the face of such horrors and their unconscious example of healthy living. Love you two, keep up the great info!

Hey guys, I just became 42 and I always loved moving my body - yoga, capoeira, skateboarding etc - last year I had the sense of really getting old physically. I didn't except and with the inspiration of you I feel stronger and more flexible than ever.
Thanks a lot

One of your best videos... A lot of other videos discuss these movements, but I love the way you guys frame it as getting "reacquainted with the ground." Also, you go beyond formal "exercise" and talk about incorporating these positions into everyday routine and non-exercise tasks. Inspiring!

I have been practicing a crawl using just my hands and feet keeping knees off the floor. It took me almost a year of just holding that pose to be able to "crawl" without hurting myself. One day, I just did it. Now I can go for about 30 seconds crawling through the house. I think I saw it on one of your videos. Doing the floor work to learn this has made a huge difference in my strength and pain levels.

There is so much truth and validity to this! I love your comment about something to the affect that the easier we can get up off the ground the longer we will live! It seem so logical! I spent 20 years thinking yoga was all I needed! But I was wrong! It’s these movements, being able to role, and squat, and stretch with out being so rigidly focussed on form has allowed me to reconnect to my body in ways yoga never facilitated to be honest! I love this

All the basic move of capoeira Angola are about this kind of stuff :)
I practiced many years when I was a child and teenager. And this relationship with the ground help me a lot now that I'm practicing calisthenic.
I never fall, I always have a roll or a capoeira escaping move to save myself from injuries.

Easily my favorite "fitness" enthusiasts on Youtube. S/o to you guys. Nothing but practicality and simplicity. Love it!

I love this. I'm 63 have done martial arts for a long time, even when I quit going to classes I have always kept doing stretches. I've been doing the get up but you take it to a new level. Kevin Secours does a lot of ground rolls and tactical get ups, so I've been working on it.

I am almost daily laying on the ground and roll around... this is so grounding and releases stress. I have never seen something on the internet about it before. :D
