Is Apple's October M4 Mac Event Canceled?

s Apple's rumored October event actually canceled? Last year, Apple announced the latest M3 MacBook Pros at its "Scary Fast" event on an unusual Monday evening with only one week's notice. It's quite possible that Apple will follow a similar formula this year, with event invites going out early next week. However, one of the devices we expected to be announced at this event—the 7th generation iPad Mini—was already unveiled earlier this week in a press release. If the event, does take place, we can expect to see some new M4 MacBook Pro models, M4 iMac and a completely redesigned M4 Mac Mini.

Can an event be "cancelled" if it was never announced. 😂 I can't imagine there is anything interesting enough to warrant an event but who knows?

*I don't care whether there is an event - just beg  Apple to finally redesign the 'Magic' Mouse 2 after 9 years & make it ACTUALLY ergonomical & comfortable to use like a normal mouse instead of the flat, sharp & low design (& not just a switch to USB-C like we saw with the AirPods Maxes).*

The ipad mini doesn't have a M4 chip, so it makes sense that it is separate

I think they'll just announce products, no event. There is not a whole lot of enthusiasm from the iPhone 16 and I think they'd rather just roll out the product than have a disappointing event.

It was never announced so it can’t be canceled. This is the issue with the Apple rumor community. Apple likely didn’t have plans to hold an event and the rumors influencers get everyone hopes up. THEN CLAIM IT WAS ‘cancelled”

Yep....Apple did the press release for the new iPad Mini early because it will be the last iPad to use an "A-Series" chip. Apple's next event will focus almost entirely on the dramatic performance increases of the M4-series and they do not want a new non M-Series device to be featured as part of the presentation. It also builds more anticipation for the next event.

I feel it’s easier enough to do press releases if they are just spec bumps to M4 with no redesign.

The Mac mini is probably not a big enough seller to have its own event.

Has Apple ever NOT held an event for a new product design? I don’t think so, which would mean that there definitely will be an event because of the new design on the Mac mini. If it wasn’t for that, then yeah sure I would definitely expect just a press release for everything.

when i bought a mini 6 in 2021, i believed she’s gonna help me a lot while travelling outside. i never thought she does help, but only stays inside and takes notes. what a waste of the cellular function.

The iPhone 4 was leaked 2 months before launch, and yet the event was still held.

desperately been wanting to upgrade and pickup an iPad mini for about a year or two now ..but since everything else had been upped to an M-chip, i figured it made sense to wait for the mini to receive it's update, in the mindset it will massively prolong the longevity of it's use to me; i held onto my first one from about 6+ years from 2013-2019, and my second for 5 years and counting from 2019-present
and well, now it has been updated, it's apparent the mini isn't needing of an M-chip ..but i'm gutted the colours have been massively diluted, especially in the year the iPhone 16s became much more saturated with bolder colours; that purple colour on the mini 6 was a major part for me

I'm thinking the event will be just about the Macs, so they wanted to get the iPad min out of the way.
