There’s many solid reasons why this unboxing is legit. One tiny detail which also supports this is the fact on the bottom right side of the MacBook Pro box there is a recycle logo. Apple has only started adding this to their packaging.

Hoping that M4 Pro’s 20% increase in performance is compared to the M3 Pro 16G, and not the 8G version. Otherwise, this will be another mediocre release. The real problem I have with all the recent MacBook pros are its heat dissipation issues. Hoping that Apple has invested into something better than using the M1 tech there. M3’s felt like it has gone backwards w.r.t sustained heat handling. Also, hoping that they invested into improving the GPU performance. I remember the whole “NVIDIA is dead argument videos” from Apple channels in M1 days and we still don’t have a decent enough GPU with features to go neck-to-neck with a 3 year old NVIDIA offerings in laptops.

I seriously doubt they'll use the same screen image on the box as the M3. That's why I think at least the box doesn't match the truth.

This whole RAM increase sounds more like 16 is the new 8; now 16 Gb won't be enough for m4 chips and macOS combined, either ways you'll need to pay extra if you want a decent performance

As I see it, it's nothing new in this leaked MBP14 M4 except for one thing: 16 GB RAM is now standard. We already knew about the geekbench 6 score thanks to iPad M4. Also we now know that it's Mac16, 1.

MBP14 2024 M4 is ~80% faster at multicore than MBP13 2020 M1. So it's pretty good!

The M4 MacBook isn't really compelling news at all but how these MacBooks got out is news worthy. I don't know if we'll ever find out how this happened.

It's good that it looks like Apple have matched the specs on the 14" MacBook Pro in terms of space black, and ports. Some people just want the smaller size because it's more portable - but still need all the ports so they can dock it when they plug it in at their desk. This seems like a decent move. I'm just awaiting M4 Mac Mini leaks now...

It is the base version. I saw it from somewhere where they noticed the serial number starts with m which means that it is not customised
