Apple's October Event: New iPad Mini and Redesigned M4 Macs!

Apple will likely hold another event in October this year to announce new Macs and iPads. If so, it would be the fourth time in the last five years that Apple has held an event in October. Last year, Apple held a virtual event on Monday, October 30 to announce new MacBook Pro and iMac models with the M3 series of chips.

If the iPad mini gets an M chip that could be really great as you could dock it to a USB C monitor/hub and use stage manager but still have an updated mini for basic tasks and note taking.

iMac 27"/30"/32" with M4 Pro chip. Mini-LED/OLED ( something upgraded ). Sick of waiting. Or at least update the Mac Studio Display to something modern. Jeez.

I am considering two options for my upcoming studies:
1. Mac Mini + MacBook Air 15'
2. Macbookr Pro 16"
I think the split between desktop and laptop is actually good, but it may also be overspending for less power in the end.
What would you recommend?
I am actually a standard user and am studying a business subject without any graphic requirements or similar.

i had to do my upgrade this year, i couldn’t go any longer without doing any work ..i’m a little gutted that presuming i don’t upgrade again for another 7+ years; imma be far behind as some of the last users with a lightning keyboard and trackpad - as well as having to hop on M2 (Max) when a year later everything gets bumped to M4

What always bothered me about the Ipad mini 6 is the side bezels. Though bigger screen in compared to the 5th The bezels on the 6th are just more apparent. And ever since then the app arrangement changed as well to sort of coincide with the form factor of the mini 6. It has ruined even the ipad mini 5 for me and they never gave an option to revert it back.

Honestly good riddance to USB-A.
The transition lasted long enough, and the remaining products using the old standard should be nudged to update to the approaching 15-year standard.
Id not we'll still have usb-A mice sold in 2034.
