Apple just announced a brand new redesigned m4 Mac mini and it may be the best valued computer they have ever released with a powerful M4 chip or M4 Pro chip, lots of USB-C ports, and the base model is only $599 with 16gb of memory.

Mac mini base with 16 GB is more powerful than last year MacBook Pro M3 model .. it is a Pro model, let’s not start saying it can only handle browsing tasks or emails lol - Apple really did a good job with M4 line up, specs and price this year. Well done Apple

I am pleased that the base 256 Gb M4 Mac Mini costs no more than the M3 or M1 Mac Mini. However, what I need to know is whether the 256 Gb M4 Mac Mini has two 128 Gb flash modules like the 256 Gb M1 Mac Mini or the 256 Gb M3 MacBook Air or whether is has a single 256 Gb flash module like the M2 Mac Mini? I want to find out if SSD performance would be hit by M4 Mac Mini having only one flash module?

I had the M1 8GB/256GB and it was lightning fast at the time. This seems like the upgrade I’ve been waiting for. Mac Mini + iPad Air is my current set up and it’s the best of both worlds for me, I see people run a MacBook + iPad set up but I think Mac mini + iPad fulfills my needs better.

I’ve been dailying a base M2 for the last year and it’s been solid. I’ll probably jump on the M4 base, especially as it has 16GB RAM now, and add fast external drives as needed.

The base model is a good deal. It’s ridiculous that Apple charges $200 for 8gb of RAM and $200 for 256gb of storage.

I am on my third Mac Mini … paired with an Apple Studio Display. It is outstanding and I have the M1 model and so base model Apple silicon. And now this. Utterly stunning. As much as I love the M1 Mac Mini, I will be trading it in. Early Christmas present!

Lets not forget that using Final Cut Pro and Logic, these App's insist on having certain things on the system drive. 1TB system drive is the minimum in that case. Just a thought.
