They should not buy in Hyd. They should buy a house in their home town at 1/3 price and the stay in rent at hyd. Yearly rent would cost around 2.5-3.25 lakh.

Stop chasing money and choose a well balanced work even if it pays a little less. Im 9+ years experienced with 17 lpa in Kolkata, i have wfh and my work life balance is good. Im doing this by compromising on getting a high salary job in other cities.

Why can't we have robust employee laws in India?

Very true.. in India we live in stress every moment.. with very little wages, huge taxes (government should be ashamed) and rapidly raising prices

Things get worse for women. Not only we have to juggle with child care & job, corporate doesn’t appreciate working mothers. 30’s is very hard for both sexes. Corporates buy you. And for 24 hours you have to slog - leaving you no time for family or personal life. And when you are denying client meetings / meetings post office hours they’ll just ask you to resign on performance issues.

The situation is worse in Mumbai and Bangalore

I guess work culture in india has to change. Its not the expectation raise as you grow experience wise. Let the person be individual contributor if the person wants. Let the meetings be minimal and fruitful. Change from a mentality of deliver more to the client and set the realistic deadlines and expectations. Manage the time well in office. Transition from people management to technical management. Let hr focus more on employee well being strategies and required trainings needed personal and professional..these are just my thoughts and not blaming anyone anything

Total BS. They want you to go techno when you are Ops. They want you to go Ops when you are Techno. Capitalism.

Hyderabad is overrated, purchasing a 2 bhk for 1 cr is ridiculous

Only fools make this mistake to buy a flat near your office, your office is not permanent, so buy house wherever you find good environment and affordable price.

Never buy a house if you can't spent upto 30% on emi

Government should declare some strict working hours in these mnc or corporate because more than even salary this 10am-7 pmworking time is the biggest cause of stress so it should be like 7 hours example 10 am -5 pm so that stress should be minimised and also employee productivity can be increased too

Exactly relatable...we don't know how long we will stay in this city then how can we buy the house in one city and live another city on rent.
It's a tough decision to take in life...where to settle down.

You forgot to mention one point, I personally know several IT friends of mine who knew nothing about how messed up Indian real estate market is. Poor fellows invested in on going projects over ready possession one just to save few lacs, they have been waiting for years now to get possession of their dream homes while paying the monthly emi alongside other expenses, simultaneously fighting case against builder in rera court as builder have failed to complete project on time and declared bankruptcy.

Your friend should learn how to stand his ground and not be a push over.
If my manager or CEO does that with me, I quickly say "Offcourse I will do it. Matter of fact I have been doing it already. Now that you have brought up this topic, let's discuss on new componsation considering these additional responsibilities".

Then I enjoy watching them trying to change the topic.

If you would be a push over in this world, others will fully utilise your vulnerability.

The problem is same when the family members start talking of family planning and you are concerned of your career stability so that you can afford raising a child in a healthy manner.
