I met my wife in Tokyo. I am american, she is german. We had been talking for 3 or 4 months before meeting IRL, and I was stationed in northern Japan with the Military. She flew in to Japan, and I went down to Tokyo to meet her. We got married 5 years after the initial meeting.

So I basically know exactly what you are talking about. We DID skype though, so it wasn't like I had never seen her before, but its totally different when its with your own eyes, and not through a camera lens.
