Well also proper communication was needed set your boundaries tell him, "yo dude I dont like being touched, so dont touch me" I know you gave hints but blatantly telling people how it is gives you answers straight away. Also if they dont respect those boundaries, that's the red flag be straightforward give their ass a review. "Hey I dont want to see you again, I told you I didnt like being touched and it showed that you didnt respect that of me" his feelings will get hurt but you're not here to please everyone in the world so show him that.
