My 6R80 with only 1600 miles on it after a rebuild, flared 300rpm from a 5-6 gear shift. Now, when trying to move forward, it seems like 90% of the line pressure isn't allowing full engagement in D, and the RPM just climbs with very little forward movement. Reverse engages perfectly fine. The car was driving perfect for the first 7 minutes, and then this came out of nowhere. I believe its a solenoid/valve body issue. No codes came up. I am swapping the valve body, bridge and tube seals today.

Man I thought pulling apart an engine was complex. This is something else. No wonder so many shops send off the transmissions else where. Sheesh.

Hi, Thank you so much for the information. I am working on a 17 f150 6r80, changing the lead frame on it. Im replacing with a new OEM part from the dealer. the truck was running and driving drive and reverse with just an intermittant p0720 and p0722 codes. after replacing the lead frame the truck would not engage on reverse. the indicator show R and live data as well. its just not moving in reverse at all. Do you have any idea what would be the possible cause of it? thanks in advance

I'm going to knock on wood because I've had mine since new in 2013 and it just turned 217, 000 miles and so far so good and the only thing I've done is changed the fluid and filter around 130, 00... just curious what does a rebuild run price wise?
