Insurance Adjusters & roofers... here's another one for you. What would you tell this homeowner? Should she file an insurance claim or not?
There's no damage to any of the soft metals. There are what look like round bruises made by hail, but they're old. Many of the granules are missing from most of the shingles, but there's a curious pattern on 2 of the roof slopes.

The bottom side looks like a repair more than anything. That's a pattern of shingles that stand out, not anything normal wear would cause. I see granular loss, but filing a claim when there's nothing there... those are the kind of people that makes life difficult for those who are actually in need of a new roof. What do you consider "manufacturer error"?

Almost seems like someone used liked bleach or a pressure washer, or maybe even a wire brush on some shingles causing damage in certain areas

Definitely shingle wear and tear combined with manufacturing error. 10 to 1 if you don't tell them to file a claim someone else will though
