I often get asked by new clients "will my homeowners insurance go up if I file a claim? "

I tell my clients that there are 2 things you can't control:

1) If they drop you

2) If they raise your rates

In the last 10 years in Florida, insurance companies have asked for a rate increase 8 of those 10 years.

Your rates are going to go up whether you file a claim or not. Insurance companies are constantly raising rates.

More than likely, whether you filed a claim or not, your rates will rise consistently over a 5 year period.
