Coercive Control

Courtney McLaughlin (16) from Ballymena, Country Antrim wants others to look out for signs of emotional abuse, after seeing the effects of a person’s controlling behaviour on someone she knows.

With Fixers, Courtney and her team have helped create this film to remind people that abuse isn’t always physical and to encourage those affected to seek help.

Glad this is highlighted. Men also suffer abuse in the same way from women. The tide is turning in the UK and it is being more recognised that men suffer too.

No one should be allowed to suffer like this. I suffered for 25 years. I also suffered child abuse. My head is a wreck and I have CPTSD. I had no one to turn to because I had been isolated by my abusers.

If you suspect anyone is being abused, please speak up. It doesn’t have to be a relationship. It might be at work or school. You could save their life. 😢💔

what really annoys me is that the people who control people have no idea of the consequences of their actions, it' so sad because sometimes they get away with it.

Sad people cant see their being controlled. The relationship feels wrong but ur stuck & dont know how to get help/advice. To even bring it up!! :(
