It’s note love, it’s coercive control’

The NSW Government will today launch an advertising campaign to raise public awareness and understanding of coercive control.

Using the tagline, “It’s not love, it’s coercive control. Know the signs of abuse,” this campaign uses video, audio and static advertisements with the slogan to show coercive control as a pattern of abusive behaviour over time.

Coercive control is insidious and can manifest in many ways. It is a pattern of behaviour which may include financial abuse, threats against pets or loved ones, tracking someone’s movements, or isolating them from friends and family to control them.

What a shambles.
At least with this video you can leave a comment of disapproval, I found many of these videos (watched while trying to work out exactly what the hell coercive control is???) the comments are turned off and it speaks volumes.

Yeah you shouldn't track people and you shouldn't steal someone's keys, but maybe you always fill the tank with gas and its not reciprocated or perhaps you have a strong and reasonable suspicion of cheating. Everyones got a story. Also a distinct lack of woman perpetrators in these videos.

Take my boss for example. Works away from home but his wife hits him up everytime he spends more than $50 on items she deems superfluous. (Works 2 days a week herself). He's so emasculated that he takes these abusive calls on speaker while I'm in the vehicle and thinks nothing of it. Meanwhile he's mooching off his workers, i.e me, for beers at the bar. He will also hide in the toilets when the skimpies come round. All masculinity and pride gone. I left to deal with these bunnies.

Mostly shits just too expensive.

I can't believe this foray into peoples personal lives considering the piss poor performance of governments at large.

Lastly I did find a list what coercive control is and while it's vague and massively open to interpretation I figured out what it perfectly describes. That is every employer I've ever worked for.

So the message appears to be that this husband, doesn't want his wife working or having friends. As a 40 year old Australian Iv never ever met a man that does this to their wife. But I have met many women who take out no fault divorces because they want to go and party like teenagers again and experience sleeping around.
