Coercive Control: The Effects – Episode 6

Показать описание
In the sixth episode of our series on coercive control, Dr Torna Pitman examines the wide-ranging effects of psychologically abusive and controlling relationships.

These effects may be cognitive, emotional or physical and are typically accompanied by decreased material wellbeing and a reduction in life chances.

Over time, these effects may result in Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) which can afflict every aspect of the victim's life.

This series is for our clients, your clients, your friends or family and the general public. Knowledge saves lives and helps us recognise the loss of human rights inherent to unequal relationships.

That was an incredibly insightful video. I learned something about myself just now. One of the many dots I get to slowly connect after having spent 25 years in a narcissistic abusive relationship. Coercive control was constant thread and weight that hung over me.

My entire family system of my parents and siblings used Coercive control to me.

I have not had any direct contact or face to face contact with my Coercive controllers in years yet they are still inflicting Coercive control over me as we speak. I have been fighting to break free from it for years but have been unsuccessful and need help stopping them.

I can see my abusers shoes, smell their stink, and hear their voice_ cant see their face _ but I know they are in the room. You can also feel their negative energy _esp when King Tut forgot to put his pants on - thats how u know _ the ripened fruit is about to go rotten.
