I think it's safe to say.. Olympic was the actual unsinkable ship after all she went through.

She was the luckiest of the white star line, her engines never stalled, her sisters died from berg and mine but she ran forever more~

"Old Reliable", as Olympic was nick named, was decommissioned in 1935. She was taken to a breakers yard in Jarrow. Her fittings were auctioned off and there are several homes, hostelries and at least one factory board room that were furnished with wood panelling, brass fittings and lights from the ship. Scrapping of the ship was completed in 1937.

I'm always so sad that Olympic didn't last to this day. I'm glad she had a long career, but how cool would it have been to preserve that ship, and just think of how popular it would be today.

She was the successful one of the three sisters. Titanic, Brittanic, and Olympic. After her sisters were sunk, she was refitted and modified for safety measures. She outran German subs more than once and was even used to transport British soldiers during WW1. Also, Olympic would be the main inspiration behind the Queen Mary’s design. Queen Mary would also go on to have a long lasting career (she still floats to this day). Ironically, like her mentor ship the Olympic, the Queen Mary was used to transport American soldiers during WW2 and also outran German subs. She was even fitted with machine guns and painted all gray, as camouflage while she was out at sea.

Titanic: *scrapes an Iceberg and sinks*
Olympic: *Gets hit by a torpedo and is completely fine*

That kinda sounds like the first voyage of RMS Great Eastern, during her first sailing, she was so well built she had actually struck a massive uncharted rock and people didn’t realize until they had put her in for repairs and saw minor amounts of flooding. That same rock probably could’ve sunk a Pre-Dreadnought battleship but Great Eastern was built so well for the time it made her nearly invincible

The ships they called “unsinkable” sank, while the Olympic was like: NOPE

In May of that year Olympic also rammed and sank U-103, after the latter tried to torpedo it. She also survived a collision with the HMS Hawke. Olympic was truly one of the luckiest ships ever to sail

Being honest, Olympic is my favourite Ocean Liner ever. Thank you for this beautifully animated take on her.

That thing got hit by a damn swimming bomb and didn’t go down, while its special sister hit a chunk of ice and created a huge fuss

Sadly, Brittanic met the same fate as her another sister Titanic. Olympic were the lucky one.

U-Boats: We are the scourge of the worlds Oceans!!

Olympic: Cute little boat you have there, be a shame if someone rammed and sank it.

Its pitty and shame that they didn't save Olympic as a museum, cause it would ve been a nice ability to imagine how "Titanic" and "Britannic" were look like nowadays without diving on 3800m below ocean, which expensive AF(

The fact that Olympic was scrapped in some old shipping yard and not turned into a museum is criminal.

Regardless of the Titanic and Britannica sister ships, Olympic probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives and it's story alone is worthy of recognition.

Conspiracy theorists : “uhh actually the olympic sunk before titanic because they was swapped 🤓🤓”

First to be built, she was the last to survive. Olympic really lived up to "Old Reliable".
