No one talking about the fact that if Olympic rescued the Titanic, the survivors would be in ship that looks exactly like the ship they just saw sinking, bet they wouldn’t have liked that

Titanic surviviors would be traumatized to be on board on a ship that is basically identical to the titanic but smaller

The problem was not the size of the ship during the rescue. The problem was that every ship was too far away. Except SS California which had her Marconi post shut down.

The Carpathia, even after full steaming through the ice pack to the point of damaging her engines, still arrived only after every survivors in the water died from cold shock. Had she been closer, more would have been saved, independently from which ship was it.

If the RMS *Olympic* had rescued the RMS *Titanic* during the night of April 14-15, 1912, the disaster could have played out very differently. Here are a few key points to consider:

1. *[Speed of Rescue]*: The *Olympic*, being *Titanic*'s sister ship, was relatively nearby (about 500 nautical miles away) when the *Titanic* struck the iceberg. However, even at full speed, it would have taken the *Olympic* several hours to reach the *Titanic*. The *Titanic* sank within 2 hours and 40 minutes, so the *Olympic* would likely have arrived too late to prevent the sinking but might have played a major role in rescuing survivors.

2. *[Survivor Capacity]*: The *Olympic* had a similar capacity to the *Titanic*, meaning it could have taken on all of the *Titanic*’s passengers and crew if it had arrived in time. This would have significantly reduced the death toll, as lifeboats could have been used to shuttle people to the *Olympic* instead of leaving them in the freezing water.

3. *[Impact on History]*: If the *Olympic* had successfully rescued most of the passengers, the *Titanic* disaster might have been less tragic in terms of loss of life, though the sinking itself would still have been a major event. The legacy of the *Titanic* could have been more focused on the heroism and quick response rather than the massive loss of life.

4. *[Reputation of the White Star Line]*: A successful rescue by the *Olympic* could have mitigated some of the negative impact on the White Star Line, the company that owned both ships. The company might have been praised for its efforts, potentially altering public perception.

5. *[Changes in Maritime Law]*: Even with a successful rescue, the sinking of a major liner like the *Titanic* would still have led to changes in maritime law, such as improved safety regulations and lifeboat requirements. However, these changes might have been less urgent or severe if more lives had been saved.

In summary, while the *Olympic* could not have prevented the sinking, it could have dramatically reduced the human cost, altering the historical narrative surrounding the *Titanic* disaster.

This was going to happen, Olympic was originally going to be sent out to rescue Titanic and her passengers, but they figured it'd be best if they didn't because the passengers would see a nearly identical ship to the one they just witnessed sink and nearly died aboard.

Olympic was just a military cargo, till this day she was no scrapped after years of completing her job she can finally rest.

Reminder for everyone abt Olympic :
Olymic is a White Starline vessel and the sister of titanic, it was a troopship in the war and a luxurious ocean liner like the titanic, she was launched with her sister ship titanic in 1911, but in April.14, 1912 while titanic was in a hurry because it was 3-4 hours late (idk how much hours but I only know it's late) in its Maiden Voyage (it means first Voyage)it struck an ice berg in 11:00 pm causing the luxury liner to sink in its bow and split into two in 2:16 am and fully submerged in 3:10 am, Olympic btw is in voyage when it received the distress signal of titanic and is currently 5 hours away, so Olympic couldn't resue her fellow sister ship, but olympic tried but didnt succeeded, but there is one ship that rescued the survivors and its Carpathia, it raced through the icyfields to rescue 18 lifeboats, but if Olmpic did rescue the survivors, Olympic will give more health care and more comfortable stay in the luxury liner and help will arrive early and maybe all the passengers in titanic will be saved but except for the fact that the passengers will be traumatized that the ship that they saw sinking reappeared, Britannic on the other hand was in construction and is Launched in 1914 but when war hit she was hired by the agenccy and converted into a hospital ship for wounded soldiers and civillians, britannic has such a big role in the late war but sadly she was sank by a German Sea mine planted by a german U-boat in 1916 but she only suffered 30 fatalities bc he has more lifeboats and other supplies that can save lifes, and that 30 fatalities was the lifeboat that comed in the propeller causing the ppl to d!e and the lifeboat to split in half, olmpic in the other hand was soon retired for almost 30 years in service and was scrapped😢

Pls like my comment cause this took me a long time to make❤❤❤and pls pin me😊

Edit : And sry for the misunderstanding my comment is now edited and added more info so u guys can have the right information abt this luxurious class of the white starline❤

Edit: Thank u guys for 💯 likes ❤

If the stern stayed afloat (which could have been possible) the Olympic could have came to tow it back to Belfast to be repaired, scrapped, or remade, as it was most likely one of the only ships that could tow the roughly 20 thousand ton section of the titanic.

Everyone probably knows this but there is a very popular theory that the Olympic was switched with the titanic because the ceo of the white star line wanted money so because the Olympic was more worn down than the titanic he switched them. This probably explains why he didn’t go on the ship last minute because he wanted it to sink for the money.

Well its a tricky question. So maybe if Olympic saved titanic the passengers who survived would be in shock because Olympic looks like titanic and not want to go on because they would fear Olympic would sink

Olympic:i am here to save you
Titanic:bye bye Olympic i miss you
Olympic:bye this is last time I see you 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

That would mean Olympic is Titanic's savior instead of Carpathia

No it should be what if ss california responded to the emergency instead of ignoring as it is nearest to the titanic

The survivors would be traumatised being on Olympic because being on a ship that looks identical to the Titanic would scare them

If Olympic had rescued Titanic, survivors would have been on a nearly identical ship to the one that sank, causing potential trauma. Olympic could have potentially towed the stern section of Titanic back to port for repairs or scrapping.

The reason olymic didn't help titanic beaces you don't want to give passengers a panic

Not only would people be worried that they are getting on her near identical sister ship, but also wondering how Olympic teleported over 400 miles

The Olympic wasn't too far off from where titanic was, but alas, she would've been too late to rescue passengers as carpathia would've probably had most, if not all on board by the time Olympic would've got there

Fun Fact: when the titanic did a distress signal, RMS Carpathia got the distress and was far away, but there was a nearby ship that was close to the titanic, this is SS California, it was just 5 miles away from the titanic, SS Californias Distress Signaler(i forgot what its called bc i quit ships) was asleep and not in duty so it did nit reach titanic. in an alternate universe, it could have saved an extra 200 people.
