This video has been a long time coming. I was waiting for the right song to come along and to finally do Ron's character justice. When my sister and I first heard this song, it just clicked ! It screamed Roonil Wazlib.
I could go on and on about why I love him. In fact, you will find a couple links further down in the description to video essays that sum up my thoughts about this whole mess. The films completely destroyed everything Ron's arc was supposed to be about. This video aims to represent Ron as he was written in the books: brave, caring, loyal, endearing & undeniably funny.

Someday I saw a post on Instagram that assured that Ron was a son of a b****, a disgusting character, a bad friend, selfish and unworthy of Hermione and I literally burst out crying of how unfair it was that someone could have the guts to say that about him.
Who was the one who stood by Harry since the very beginning? Who was the one who wrote his mother asking her to send some Christmas' presents for Harry, because otherwise he would have none? Who was the one who (at age 12) sacrificed himself in an enormous chess game so his friends could move forward? Who was the one who flew to Privet Drive in the middle of the night because he was worried that Harry wasn't answering his letters? Who was the one who fiercely defended Hermione when Draco called her a mudblood? Who was the one who, at age 12, went into a forest which was full of dangerous creatures and faced giant spiders, despite suffering of arachnophobia? Who was the one who ended up punished because he defended Hermione when Snape said she was an "insufferable know-it-all"? Who was the one who stood on a broken leg to protect his friend from a "massive murderer"? Who was the one that Harry would have missed the most in the second trial of the Triwizard Tournament? Who stood by Harry's side, when everyone thought he was a liar, knowing that he would have been accused of lying as well? Who was the one who saved Harry's life? Who was the one who begged Bellatrix to torture him instead of Hermione? Who was the one who thought about the house elves in the battle? Who was the one who defied Voldemort when he announced that Harry was "dead"? Exactly; Ron.
He's not perfect at all. He's flawed and he makes mistakes just like every single human being in the world and that's actually what makes him such a great character. Even though, not everyone is brave enough to, having done something badly, admit they were wrong and apologise without pretending nothing happened, but assuming the weight of their actions. He's just a little kid silently fighting against his own insecurities.
The Ron's character misjudgement is all set off by the movies in which they show that Harry and Hermione are some kind of gods and Ron is just the stupid boy who's only useful if you want to laugh at someone.
But there's nothing further from reality, he's such a good friend; someone humble, brave, loyal, generous, funny, kind and warm-hearted. And most importantly, he's and forever will be my favourite ever character.
Thank you for doing him justice and bringing the REAL Ron back to life with this amazing video; you're so talented!

Ron Weasley is one of my favourite character ever. Although I adore Rupert Grint as Ron, I'll always resent the screenwriters a bit for not understanding the true depth of his character. Everything about this video is amazing: from the song to the editing. Great job! It warms my heart that others love Ron Weasley as much as I do.

While the movies do paint him in a bad light compared to the books, i dont think even that is enough of a warrant for people to hate him so much. He’s still a good, brave friend even in the movies. I think some just want to hate ron no matter what

He was always one of my favorites and I'm forever bitter about how the movies did him dirty. This tribute certainly helped take away some of that sting because it showcased my favorite aspects of Ron and his true value to the franchise. Btw, you're so right about this song being perfect for him!

I have always known that Ron's character in the movies was flattened compared to the books, but never could put my finger on specific ways it was done in until recently. "If you're going to kill Harry, you have to kill us too". He's a true Gryffindor. I love his interactions with Harry in the books, they truly are the best of friends, brothers really.
