That part in the book added so much to Ron’s character

At the time he had a broken leg but despite his pain he stood up for harry

One thing I’ve noticed is that in the books Harry never truly understands Ron’s fear of being last because he was always first in Harry’s life.

Even Sirius in that scene was like “Ron bro sit down I’m actually worrying about your leg ANd yourself”

People really forgot how ready Ron Weasley was to straight up throw hands every time someone even looked in Harry's direction in a way he didnt like.

I like how Ron's leg miraculously started working through the power of inspirational monologues.

Ron still has my heart from book one where he was explaining duels to Harry and Harry asked what to do if he didnt know a spell or lost his wand and Ron straight up answered "deck 'em"

Ron was so much better in the books because he was like a wizarding world encyclopedia, whilst harry and hermione didn't know the ins and outs

My favorite Ron moment was when Percy sent him that bs long letter that warned him to stay away from Harry and Ron was ready to disown his own brother for him.

And the fact that Mermans took Ron as Harry's most precious thing will be always fascinating to me.

Ron Weasley in the books: a brave and loyal friend who is human and makes mistakes. He experiences jealousy and he sometimes says things he doesn't mean, but he's there for Harry.

Ron Weasley in the movies: I have red hair and Hermione says all my lines

What makes me sad is that not only do the movies make Ron seem like the third wheel, they also take away his charm, smarts, and his loyalty. Part of what makes that fight with Harry in the 7th book so devastating is that it is so out of character for him. And that makes the fact that he came back that much more powerful. One of my favorite lines in DH is when Ron says:

"He must have known I'd run out on you."

To which Harry replies:

"No, he always knew you'd want to come back."

Like, his FUNDAMENTAL character trait is his loyalty and bravery, and the movies totally ruined that. They make him seem like a tag-along who is forced to do things "just because, " when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Sorry for the Essay, but Ron is my favorite character and the way he was treated in the movies breaks my heart.

Ron Weasley's first instinct upon his friends coming to rescue him isn't "oh thank gods you're here, " it's "you guys need to leave me here, this is a trap, please go before Sirius Black gets you"

My favorite Ron moment is from book 3 when Snape calls Hermione an insufferable know it all. The whole class gets mad, despite having called Hermione a know it all at least once, and Ron, who called her a know it all about twice a week stands up and says, “You asked a question and she answered it, why ask if you don’t want to be told” straight to Snape’s face. Ron is one of the reasons I can’t go back to the movies after reading the books.

Movie Ron “He’s got a point you know.”

Book Ron “You asked us a question and she knows the answer! Why ask if you don't want to be told?"

Always makes me mad!

Sirius:*Stares at Ron* Is that what I sounded like when I defended James?
Remus:You had some…*questionable* moments…

Yeah!! They gave Hermione all of his best moments. He was my favourite character and they just turned him into a cowardly oaf.
Same sort of thing happened to Ginny. She was a feisty badass in the books, in the movies she like a walking vegetable.

What makes this even better is in the book Ron had a broken leg, no wand, and was on the verge of passing out and was still ready to throw hands

Ron was also smart in his own way in the books, its why i was so happy that he became a prefect. He literally knew so much about the wizarding world and helped harry whenever he can

One of the times they did him dirty was in poa when Snape tells Hermione she is an insufferable know it all and in the books he goes off and says “why did you ask if you didn’t want to be told” but in the films they literally just make him say “he has a point you know”

I get that they can't fully flesh out Ron's character in the movies but the fact that they straight up give his coolest moments to Hermione is a crime
