Gompletely agree! I don't know what they were thinking when they gave them all those awkward scenes! I didn't even like the kiss, it was so boring. In the book it was so full of tension, Harry had had to miss the last Quidditch game because of detention, and Ginny played seeker for him. When he came back, he arrived to the party and Ginny ran to him and he was so happy that he kissed him. Which made everyone go quiet and it was so exciting because Ron was right there. But nooo, we get an awkward thing.

Seem to remember book Ginny being really sassy which made her a great match for the really sassy Harry.

Ginny actually had a personality in the books that’s why we love book Ginny. Movie Ginny was 90% watered down to almost nothing

Even with the screen time she had, there was so much that could have been better about her portrayal of Ginny. More screen time may have just resulted in more awkwardness.

Ginny was way stronger, sassier and badass in the books. She was extremely pretty - even some of the slytherins had a liking for her. She was bold, confident, brave, empathetic and a strong female character overall. In the books, she has always been seen as an equivalent for Harry. The movie portrays her as just another awkward love interest. Ginny and Harry had so much more chemistry in the books. I love book Ginny. ❤

Yes, Can't agree more! On the other hand, Hermione had given others' lines in the movies. Well, the golden trio were the main characters but i think it was purposely done to make Hermione outshine all the other female characters in the movies. (I know, she outshined them all even in the books, but ridiculously even more in the movies, screen time and lines that never hers in the first place). I'm not hating Hermione's character, she's legendary but as an HP book reader, it's not only Ginny's character had underwhelming character shining moments in the movies. Even I felt that she's only Harry's bestfriend's little sister (in the movies).

I agree that Ginny should be more powerful in the movies as she is in the books, I would like to see a fighting spirit in her, I would like her to have more scenes with Hermione, but I like her, and I don't have any big problem with the changes, I have more problems with how they changed Ron Weasley. Especially in the Prisoner of Azkaban and chamber of secrets.😤

Currently reading the books and this is SO true! They left out most of her real personality and made her this awkward, shy, loser who doesn't know anything while in the books, she actually had a life and a personality!

tbh bonnie was just a bad actor. like she may have had shit scenes in the movies but ginny had more time in the movies than the books. she didn’t bring out ginny. book ginny was way more confident than movie ginny and all i saw bonnie do was the same expressions. harry potter fandom likes to blame the directors but they actor is also to blame. like you need to accept criticism and not confuse it with hate.
