Ngl there is now a secret common stage that some people have. It's stage 0.5 where the player is new they play only line infantry and they afk at the start or just afk in menu. Then they don't listen to their teammates, they don't chat, they don't ask for help, and they play the game like a random 5-year-old that stumbled upon a new game and thinks its a roaming adventure game. Also they dont progress to stage 1 or higher they usually quit and don't learn.

Stage 1: HELP IM GETTING MAULED BY WALKERS
Stage 2: HELP IM GETTING MAULED BY WALKERS
Stage 3: HELP IM GETTING MAULED BY WALKERS
Stage 4: HELP IM GETTING MAULED BY WALKERS
Stage 5: HELP IM GETTING MAULED BY WALKERS

Here is an Edit:
Alot of people are calling me out for calling them "Walkers" instead of "Shamblers", but me personally do not care, I love TWD and the zombie genre, if you're that kind of person that is easily offended, please understand that some people have different mindsets and opinions on things.

Stage 1 is so real, especially the part when you get criticized. I remember playing on Catacombs, and it was really one of my first times playing, and I walked up to Jean on the bridge. Immediately, I got FLAMED by the entire server and everyone was insulting me for talking to Jean and initiating the objective without letting anyone prepare defences 😭. After that, I learnt so damn much, so that was a learning experience

Stage 6: The PTSD veteran (300-400+ hours, i include myself)
you just play for fun, you have all the badges, all the weapons, 10k francs or more. you often play custom servers for a different experience, you just mess around there doing.. well things.. but some of us help a newbie when its starting the game, we often get mad for our team having skill issues and we have to carry their fat ass.
After playing over and over again we'll eventually have PTSD when we see a newbie.
Thanks for reading this shi

On behalf on all Old Guard players Stage 5 is very accurate.
The PTSD kicks in everytime.
Every badge doesnt even matter. Its just KDR at this point

Stage 4.5: In this stage, you're an inch away from perfection. But you still struggle from getting Old Guard and it's driving you insane. You also got more patient with stage 1 players and stopped bragging. Who else is in this stage?

The final stage is when you shout “GIVE EM STEEL!” Out in public at random intervals

Stage one: I was quickly able to find out how to change my class but was still trash at the game by making frequent mistakes like melee a bomber

Stage two: I had a newfound interest in the seaman and sapper class but after watching a “is the nock gun good” video I decided to buy the nock gun and made the seaman my main

Stage three: I was able to unlock the chaplain class but hated it for a bit because it couldn’t 1 shot runners, I also looked at a lot more G&B videos and learned how to flick.

Stage four: (which is where I am at now) I started to get bored of the seaman class so I decided to try out the other classes much more and started to become addicted to the officer class and started to save francs for the double barrel pistol which I still am grinding for as I’m typing this. While still saving for the DB pistol I tried out the musician class so I wouldn’t have to fight as much and I started to like the musician class now.

By the way I played G&B on mobile ONLY

Love the thumbnail. Reminds of # of Stages for every TF2 Class Player videos. Very nostalgic.

Sometimes newbies can be lucky and will meet another type of players: mentors.

Those lads are the best the community has to offer. They talk about the mission objectives and ussualy know the best ways to do them and are willing to explain it to newbies.

They will also help in learning the basics, like don't mele the barrel zombie (most people learns the hard way) or how to mele a barrel zombie (It is possible to mele them and not die)

This video is so true. Playing bai for years was such a big help when i began playing g&b. It was basically starting the game at stage 4. Luckily im at stage 5 and im not as arrogant! (Most of the time at least lmao)

Stage 1: I did not know what the game was, however, I picked up the mechanics really quick (Result of me playing L4D2 & NMRIH. Mistakes I've made were using my primary too often, Meleeing Bombers, and skill issuing at runners

Stage 2: I could handle my own, however I did not know how to counter runners, however I was able to realize quick I was supposed to shoot Bombers

Stage 3: I was able to deal with runners, and Bombers, however Zappers were added, luckily it was easy to figure out how to deal with them

Stage 4: I 100% G&B, Igniters were added, I started to work on the Unofficial Wiki

Stage 5: I work for the Official Wiki, I had to re-100% the game like 2 times

I don't really bully newcomers, but sometimes I do
