Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones - The Beasts of Geonosis (Battle Arena) - 4K ULTRA HD.

The Petranaki arena, also known as the Arena of Justice and commonly referred to as the Geonosis execution arena, was a large structure on the planet Geonosis. It was used for Petranaki gladiatorial battles between creatures and sentient beings. Ten years after the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation, the arena was the site of the attempted execution of Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and senator Padmé Amidala. A team of 212 Jedi led by Jedi Master Mace Windu was sent to the arena to rescue the trio, but were attacked by battle droids belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Most of the Jedi were killed before being rescued by the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic, marking the beginning of the Clone Wars.

I like how each character embraces their different fighting styles in this scene:
Anakin takes advantage of his force abilities to manipulate his beast and even turns it against the others.
Padme is resourceful, she uses her hairpin to break free of her shackles and uses the post and the chain to fight her beast.
Obi-Wan is calm and focused, analyzing his beast’s weak points and outsmarts it. (Another example of this is when he fights Grievous)

The Geonosians were a ruthless, barbaric culture and I fucking loved it. Not enough people give George and his team credit for the prequels and how they created this incredible ecosystem of different alien races and each had a different hierarchy when it came to their politics.

Anakin Skywalker using the force to calm and coerce his beast was always one of my favorite Star Wars moments, I vividly remember watching this scene for the first time and being like “Wow, he really is the chosen one, he’s so strong with the force.” It really matches his bold and assertive personality too, just like how all of their opponents and fighting styles match their characters well.

Its rather poetic that Anakin and Padme's love was made clear to one another before being forced into a war arena. Their entire relationship is based around love and war. When the tamed reek kills the nexu and Padme jumps, the little cheek kiss to Anakin was so sweet.
