Imagine if men experienced a major loss of hormones in their 40s & 50s. There would be an entire class about how to treat, along with tons of studies and medicine for it. 🙄

Ok so basically when we stop being “useful” when we’re young, we’re tossed aside like garbage when we no longer serve the “purpose”.
Got it.

Could you please advocate for women in Congress to let them know what is happening in medical schools and currently

Thank you! My OBGYN said I only need HRT if I am having menopausal symptoms that make me uncomfortable. He said many women don’t need HRT. I want it for longevity and quality of life.

The question is: Why not? Why no training? It's especially disheartening that OBGYNs aren't prepared to educate & support us.

The older I get the more I realize professionals are usually just guessing 😅

I have my GYN told me that my excruciating perimenopause symptoms (and they were MANY!!!) said that they’re just part of aging, i.e., suck it the f**k up as it will eventually go away. Unacceptable answer!! So I became my own advocate and researched this stage of my life with gusto. And also found myself a GYN specializing in perimenopause thru NAMS organization (US). Life changing. Don’t give up ladies. There’s hope! 👍

When I asked for hrt, the minute my previous obgyn heard my mom had breast cancer she said i was not a good candidate for HRT. Another obgyn, when I asked do I need hrt she says, "why??" Your ovaries are dead anyway there is nothing else to do!" She also said just walking is not going to help, but she never told me what would. I dropped her, now I'm trying to figure out on my own. I'm glad I found you. Thank you for your good information.

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner in Outpt Primary Care and have brought it up to our medical board for a protocol to help perimenopausal and menopausal women. Supplements, pharmacology and the 5 things you mentioned are what I preach to my pts! Thank you for your education and resources!

My gp’s nurse at my annual check up said to me when I asked her what I could do about menopause- her reply “ hormones therapy causes cancer so nothing can be done.” That was the beginning of my quest to advocate for myself. Btw I printed your guide and mailed it to her office!

Went to Dr yesterday. Told her about my peri menopause symptoms... Her answer was to put me on anti depressants and send me to a Psychiatrist.
When I asked her how that will help with extreme night sweats and urinary infections and dull hair.. She said that it's because of depression and a uti...
I was soo sad... Crying all the way home...

I find the exercise, nutrition and stress reduction near impossible due to the physical pain and wild mental health decline. Just started hrt by advocating and educating myself as best I can. But exercise and nutrition... Not there yet.

I’m 57yrs old. When I’ve tried to talk with dx’s about my many symptoms, with fatigue and lack of sleep really impacting me, I get prescriptions for antidepressants and asked if I want a referral to a psychiatrist. This is so frustrating. Glad you’re giving us the tools to advocate for ourselves. Thank you!

How do you advocate for yourself with a person who has little to no training on the subject?

You have given me the advocacy I needed. I'm still stumped on stress and sleep.
