So... Nintendo are in the process of making a very strong statement about how we are all suppose to view the privilege of being able to buy nintendo products. We're all to respect them, or face massive consequences.

If Nintendo wins this lawsuit it will set a dangerous precedent leading to stagnation and fewer developers at a time when the industry is already bleeding itself dry with poor decisions

they are losers that rather destroy gaming than make better games

I think EVERY company needs to turn around and sue Nintendo to get these greedy fuckers to stop

Hopefully nintendo gets in trouble or sued for copyright abuse and patent abuse

If Nintendo isn't careful they are going to get a massive lawsuit against them by government agencies. The Department Of Justice has been going after huge companies lately in Anti-Trust and Anti-Monopoly cases. The latest three I know of are: Microsoft (again), Google, and much more recently in the last month or two: Visa.

Nintendo wants to become a monopoly? D.O.J. will swoop in.

Nintendo tried to sue Blockbuster for renting Nintendo games. That didn't work to well for Nintendo! They always where like this!

Wanted to note the first Mount in a video game was in a title called "Joust" which released in 1982. In that game you can ride a flying Mount. The game was developed by an American company. Nintendo didn't come up with Mounts in games and certainly not flying mounts. Pocket pair needs to show this as evidence that the concept for Mounts didn't come from Nintendo and they have no right patent an idea that has been around since 1982.

It's insane they are trying to patent horse back riding. Like wtf

Nintendo had fully turned into a suing company and the industry is probably going to never recover from this.

Remember: Nintendo was built as a gambling-maffia. They remained that.

The worst thing is, Nintendo doing this all at once means they don't care about the customer's opinion's anymore.

Pokemon fans have been screwed over and some have left because of Nintendo suing Palworld, Mario Maker 2 was unfinished showcasing content you can't use, FE: Three Hopes has units in your base that will A-Pose consistently with an incomplete story, and this is just the surface of many more issues.

Nintendo has told me 3 key things.
1: We won't finish our games and expect premium prices even then
2: We will use our profits to have a monopolistic control
3: We will use our profits to take away your ability to access content

Joycon's horrid durability when Nintendo was known for being durable says almost everything you need to know.

Fans: "WE WANT SOMETHING DIFFERENT!"
Nintendo: "Nah, we're gonna keep doing the same shallow things and you're gonna like it."
Another game: *Gives something different*
Nintendo: "NUH-UH!"

Aren't... Patents supposed to encourage creativity? I mean, the original idea is supposed to encourage making new things right?
All these patents for game mechanics are doing is stifling it. Ya know what, I'm blaming WB for this. They did one patent, and now other companies think it's ok to do for broad stuff.

Crazy - maybe.

Power Hungry - Yes.

Nintendo is a joke. They don't deserve their platform anymore and that's coming from a use to fan.

And here am i with a homebrew 3DS with 600 games watching nintendo burn money instead of making new stuff

If I were the owner of Nintendo, I’d treat my fandom the same way Sega treats their fandom, with total respect and give warnings IF NECESSARY, not like how the current Nintendo owners do

I once printed cardboard pokemon pogs and sold them in elementary school 25 years ago, pray for me

If they're going after the mount mechanic, I've got bad news: 0% chance of that working.

All you need to do to destroy a patent is demonstrate that it existed before. Summons for mounts have existed for a long time in video gaming.

And besides, in PL:A and S/V, it's 1 button to switch between having a mount on the field underneath you and having no mount on the field at all - in Palworld, there is a separate button for summoning/dismissing and another for mounting/dismounting. While that seems like a trivial distinction, it makes the Pal mounts work more like Arvaak from Skyrim: Dawnguard than the Totem Hisuian Braviary or Koraidon.

Patent Trolling is a problem!
Do you know how much 'new' technology is 20 years older then it should be, because of a patent troll?
Someone had to wait for the Patent to Expire before the technology could be mass-produced!

Should buy Palworld again to spite Nintendo
