Game Sharing should be part of the Family Pack Plan.

“My kids don’t care about their save files”, legendary last words.

I bought the OG switch for my family some yrs back I just bought a Oled for myself a week ago and gave my daughter the OG switch I was the primary on the OG switch and then used the cloud save transfer to download the games from the OG on the new Oled switch… so far all is well but Nintendo needs to get with the damn times smh and make life easier for everyone 🤨

you forgot to mention: game sharing would only work if you are in close proximity to the primary user. but let say it's cross-border (eg. out-of-country, maybe someone's on vacation), the primary account MAY (not absolute) get banned specially if it was shared to more than 2 switch consoles.

The data provided here wasn’t completely accurate. One of those ways does work, which is the last. But the other two do not work the way it was explained. Using words like “should” don’t help the situation. If you would’ve tried to provide a video tutorial showing each step on both switches, you would’ve found that the first 2 options do not work that way.

Only the account that moves to the second switch can play the games on both. NO ONE else can create or use any profile on the second switch to play the games brought over.

Furthermore, you can only deregister your account ONCE per year. So this does not work the way explained either.

Can you show us how you do this? I am more of a visual learner. TIA

As confusing as it sounds, this is one of the most straightforward videos about sharing games. I have a Switch for me and my two daughters, and physical games are the way to go. DLC is a bit of a workaround. Do better Nintendo, do better...

THANK YOU! We just got the new Splatoon 3 Oled. I'm doing ALL the research before transferring our original switch over. This video was so helpful. 😁

We're probably getting our son his own Switch for Christmas this year, and I've been trying to figure out how to manage the few digital games I've purchased that he'll want to play. I haven't seen any article or any other video mention scenario #3, and I think that may be the best option for us to start with. (I also don't mind if he uses my Switch, the primary one, if he really wants to play one of those games). Thanks for the suggestion. This is definitely worth a sub to your channel! :)

I've had a switch for a few years and quite a few games on my account, and my brother just got his switch and only had access to my physical games. Method 3 will allow him to play my games I don't have a cartridge for.

Thanks!

Dude thank you!!! The last option will work for me. Thought I was going to go broke getting my kid his own switch.

Option 2 seems like the best over all.. all you have to do is make 3 profiles. Profile 1 is shared across both consoles and only makes purchases. Profile 2 and 3 are not shared at all so everyone has their own saved data. This makes it so both consoles can buy games, but minimize the chance of messing up someone’s game data. Example- ⚫️ (shared account) 🔵🔴(individual accounts) both consoles have access to ⚫️ to purchase whatever but have no access to the individual ones.

After listening to this a few times sounds like all 3 ways are essentially all the same with the variation of primary account holder login, and profiles, and how they are set up on certain switches? Yes no?
