The Ellen MacArthur Foundation and WWF are calling for a legally-binding UN treaty that addresses the entire plastics lifecycle. More than 2 million people around the world, +700 civil society groups, +70 global companies, and more than ¾ of UN member countries back this call.

There’s no time to waste. Every day, the plastic pollution crisis gets worse, and it doesn’t care about borders. Countries and organisations can’t fix the problem on their own through voluntary agreements and existing measures. It is a global challenge that needs a coordinated and globally aligned response.

In February, world leaders have a once in a lifetime opportunity at the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) to begin negotiations for a treaty on plastic pollution.

We need our governments to act now to fix plastic pollution for good, before it’s too late.
