Thanks for sharing. Just a little correction @1:20 If each core has 2 threads and there are 4 cores, the processor will be able to do 8 tasks.

I'd say both matter. You want extra cores and threads for background tasks, but at the same time for gaming you want good single thread performance. Due to most games not being multi threaded.

I bought an old HP Z440 with 4 core E5 1620 V3. Put in a E5 2670 V3 12 core only because the CPU was $15 Australian. I just wanted to have a crack. Thought about an NVME to see how things might go, but after some research, decided not to. Goes alright for a dinnasoar. Thanks for the informative video. I really had no idea. Cheers from Sydney Australia.

I thought cpu and core are 2 different components, so I've learned that cores are within CPU. THANK YOU!

What does everyone mean with tasks? Look 1task=1application? So like opening google will use 1 core?

Summary: Cores do different things. Threads do the same thing.

CPU is more analogous to the brain than the heart. The PSU is more analogous to the heart.
